“My stomach is still feeling a bit off after becoming ill with a virus, but I’m slowly reintroducing tea into my routine after feeling really under the weather. This tea is a very decent Dancong...” Read full tasting note
Aofuhou (also known as Tifuhou, Tafuhou, Takuhou, etc depending on the transliteration from local dialect) is a sub-varietal of Songzhong and naturally has a similar fruity and sweet character that we love.
This year’s tea doesn’t stray far from the 2021 version. Fruity and juicy really are the best words to sum up this tea. This is evident as soon as you open the tin, as the fruit aroma is noticeable with both the dry and wet leaves. This is one of those teas where we can note with relative confidence a strong strawberry aroma, accompanied by a unique sweet potato fragrance and sweetness.
We also highly recommend this tea for cold brewing, which produces highly refreshing and flavourful results.
This tea offers a strong value as a mid-range Dancong. Made from quality, high mountain material, the flavour is strong and lasting, with a pleasant mouthfeel and good texture.
