“Not worth the price. I got this tea from my recent BLT order, and while it is decent, it isn’t worth it. Beautiful leaves with a nice and fragrant aroma, decent cha-qi and decent aftertaste....” Read full tasting note
One of our favourite Dancong varietals, this Baxian produces a complex and elegant fragrance that unravels in layers with each brew. There is a gentle floral quality up front, followed by a fresh lychee aftertaste and a honey sweetness that becomes more obvious by the 4th infusion. This tea also produces a full feeling in the mouth, while the fragrance echoes in the throat.
As with any quality Dancong, this tea offers a thick mouthfeel across many infusions. We recommend taking your time between infusions in order to appreciate what this tea has to offer, just be sure to also maintain a high water temperature for your steeps.
Our top Dancong offering for 2022, this tea both deserves and demands your attention. For this reason, we recommend this level of tea for more experienced drinkers and those who are confident in their brewing abilities.
The material used for this tea comes from high altitude, old bushes in Yahou (垭后) and has undergone traditional style charcoal roasting. In our opinion, this tea provides a great representation of the differences between the common and the uncommon.
