“A nice yet average pu-erh! I got this tea from my recent BLT order, and while there wasn’t much to rave about this tea, it isn’t bad by any means either. Beautiful pickings and liquor with a potent...” Read full tasting note

Description

If something gentle and light is your thing, then this is (literally) not your cup of tea. However, if you want a bold tea that makes a statement, we’ve got your covered. Made from Nannuo old tree material, this tea pulls no punches, with a prominent kuwei (pleasant bitterness) and roughness up front that yields to heavy sweetness in the back.

In the domestic (Chinese) tea scene, Nannuo teas have a bit of a reputation for being aggressive and rough when young, but pay dividends when aged, shedding some of the abrasive qualities and giving way to a sweet and a flavourful aroma. While this tea’s development is yet to be judged, it certainly fulfills the first portion of that expectation, and is suitable for those who like their young sheng on the burly side.

As with The Pleasure is All Mine White Tea, which we highly recommend as a comparative/companion tea, this tea uses old tree (maybe gushu – nobody knows the true age of the trees) material from a clean, well-maintained environment in Nannuo.

Picking Period: Pre-April 5th
