Description

Terroir – Upper Assam
Satrupa Tea Estate is in Upper Assam, at the eastern-most part of the Assam region. This area has rich red loom soil, year-round tropical wet climate, and old-growth forest all around. Satrupa is on the periphery of the last contiguous rainforest tracts in the Eastern Himalayas.
Tea Description
Soft sweetish malty flavor gives a distinct Assam tea profile to this extremely hard to manufacture white tea from our tea garden, Satrupa. The body is light, the brew has a soft off-white color, and leaves a silky, velvety mouthfeel.
Brewing Suggestion
To relish the amazing nuances of freshly harvested teas, you will need a pocket scale and a timer. Teaspoons and other volumetric measuring devices are not recommended for measuring serving size in tealeaves.

Water: Use water that’s between 175ºF / 80ºC to 208ºF / 97ºC.

Steep Time: Set between 3 minutes to 7 minutes based on how strong/subtle you prefer

Quantity: 2-grams to 4-grams per 8 fluid ounces / 236.6 millilitres

Adjustments: Brewing white tea to taste perfect for your palate is somewhat of an art. Start with the lower numbers recommended above (175ºF | 3 min | 2-gms) and twig the three variables upwards to get to the perfect cup.

Note: We do not advise you to reduce the brewing time below 3 minutes unless you prefer doing multiple infusions. For multiple infusions, start the first steep at 2 minutes and add 2 minutes additional to each additional infusion of the same leaves.
