Description

Also known as Bai Hao Oolong, Oriental Beauty (東方美人) is produced only once a year, in the summer. The honey, orchid, and fruit notes are contributed to in part by leaf hoppers feeding on the tea leaves. This also causes the leaves to be dwarfed in size, requiring a significantly greater number of leaves to make one pound of tea.
This Oriental Beauty comes from Mr. Ong, an old school farmer native to Ping Lin, a tea growing region in the northeastern part of Taiwan. The area has a very unique micro climate, with intense fog for a lower elevation, less than 800 meters, area. These factors made Ping Lin one of the first well known tea growing regions on the island.
