Cup Characteristics: Round cup, with good tea flavour. The Ceylon gives a flowery character and the Assam gives a malty character. Blended together with these two excellent estates teas are Cinnamon, Passion Fruit and Mango flavored teas. The final result is a delicious, mildly spiced fruit tea where each of the components is in harmony with the other.
Infusion: Bright coppery colour

When British planters first ventured into the Assam Valley in the 1850s and 1860s with the view of establishing tea plantations, they faced many difficulties; especially with the wildlife. They had to contend with marauding elephants, king cobras and troops of monkeys, (the monkeys were more of a nuisance than a threat as they would quickly steal anything left unattended). Perhaps the most feared animal was the mature Bengal Tiger, an animal that could kill with one swipe of its powerful paws and carry away young people.
Historical accounts tell of the planters boiling water and adding locally grown fruits and spices along with the tea to ward off pangs of hunger and bouts of thirst. The fruit would give them the vitamin C their body required, the cinnamon had a curative affect on their digestive system… and the tea – well!, what citizen of England could survive without tea! I picked up this blend at Angelina’s without really knowing what it is. Now that I know, I like the sound of it – cinnamon, mango and passionfruit! The dry leaves smell entirely of mango and sweet passionfruit. The tea itself has a tropical, fruity aroma. The flavor is fruity with a strong malty mango finish. There’s a light tart and fruity aftertaste. I’m really not tasting any cinnamon in this tea. The difference between this tea without milk and sweetener and with is like night and day. Without, the flavors are all sharp and far apart, but with it becomes a really smooth, flowy cup full of soft and sweet fruitiness. And I can detect a very faint touch of cinnamon, or more like the warm, dull spiciness from the cinnamon. The milk and sweetener saved this tea for me!
-Dry blend has medium black and green tea leaves with pieces of dried fruit, cinnamon bark and yellow petals.
-Dry leaves smell like mango and passionfruit. Tea liquor aroma is of sweet tropical fruit with a hint of cinnamon.
-Tea liquor is a clear medium orange brown color.
-Fruity flavor with a malty mango finish. Light tart fruity aftertaste with a faint warmness of cinnamon.
-Best with milk and sweetener.
