Smoothies, Lattes, Baking

Add the rich taste and health benefits of matcha to your baking and creative cooking.

Shade-grown and organic, this grade is intended for making power drinks, smoothies and baked goods. It is paler in colour and more astringent on the palate. Distinct matcha taste and still packed with health benefits! Independently tested for impurities. Grown organically in China.

Suggested Uses: Perfect for baking. Can also be used in smoothies & lattes. Sprinkle on granola, oatmeal or yogurt, or ice cream.

IN BAKING: Add matcha as directed in your recipe. Check out our blog for matcha recipes!

LATTES: Place 1 tsp matcha into a mug, add 2oz of hot water and mix with an electric milk frother or whisk. Fill your mug with hot foamed milk or cold milk and ice.

SMOOTHIES: Add 1 tsp of matcha into your blender with your smoothie ingredients.

Ingredients: Organic Chinese matcha

I made this into a smoothie for breakfast this morning. It had oatmeal, milk, matcha, honey, vanilla, coconut milk, banana, and blueberries. With the addition of the oatmeal, this really came off tasting a lot like a cookie. I couldn’t really taste the matcha, though it did turn the smoothie a lovely shade of green. I’m curious – do most people cook with matcha for the flavor, the color, the energy boost, or some mixture of all three? Since I couldn’t really taste it here, perhaps I’ll try adding more next time.
