It’s fun that one of the tinsel teas is decaf! I didn’t include any marshmallows in the cup. The flavor is desserty, though I don’t really get chocolate. It’s closer to coconut? It tastes better as it cools, but it’s nothing super remarkable. The flavoring is too mild, but with milk, it’s an okay cup. Surprisingly, I’m pretty into the resteep. I made it with almond milk and sugar free vanilla syrup, and that really pepped it up.
So with the majority of my tea drinking being devoted to advent teas right now, I always feel compelled to work on sipdowns for my other choices. But I’m trying to let myself drink some of my fun new holiday teas since it’s the holiday season and it seems silly not to enjoy them now.
So here we are! This is the first tea I’ve tried from the Adagio Tinsel Teas sampler. Normally I don’t order from Adagio, but they get my every time with these adorable mini-tin themed sets. This one is a decaf black tea and it’s supposed to be chocolate and hazelnut flavors. First impression was that I don’t see anything in the leaf besides marshmallows and what looks like coconut. But there’s no coconut listed… I guess maybe it’s the marigold petals…?
Hmm, this kind of tastes like nothing. Just a bland black base and a bit of coconut? Definitely getting coconut, which makes no sense. Maybe it’s the cream flavoring?
Anyway, this is a lame tea. :(
