From Adagio Teas

These lovely pearls are made from white peony leaves that are hand-shaped. Each pearl is of the larger variety, weighing on average 3.5 to 4 grams. Once steeped, the cup reveals classic white peony notes of melon and cucumber, a little mineral flintiness and just a hint of honey. Perfect for on-the-road brewing and multiple steepings.

Steep at 180° for 3-5 minutes.

Gongfu!

Sipped on these white tea “pearls” a few days ago while playing Pokemon Let’s Go Eevee! I skipped it when it first came out (the game, not the tea) so I decided that I’d finally give it a fair shake – and I’m enjoying it a lot!

In regard to the tea, to call this a pearl styled tea is definitely a bit of a misnomer; they’re definitely much more like a loosely rolled dragonball. I only used one for the session (in my 70ml gaiwan). This is a good tea to brew while I play though; the notes of straw and cream are a bit more flat/one dimensional but the tea handles my non-attentive & distracted brewing style very well. Long steep times aren’t a problem, and while the flavour isn’t exciting it’s not unpleasant either.

Giant white tea ballz! This white tea clocks in 4 to 5 grams each, rolled giant bai mu dans. I did gongfu, 200f. Early steepings are sweet, creamy, coconut, linen, hay, honeydew rind. Later steepings get musty, medicinal and tart. 11 steepings total.

Trying to find this tea in the steepster database and I found they have a 4 to 5gram green tea version!
