First, I love Adagio teas and shops. The staff is always knowledgeable and friendly and want to share their tea love.

Second, when I was in buying tea a few years ago, I decided it was finally time for me to try matcha. The employee took me through the ritual and I instantly fell in love.

As this was the first matcha I had ever tried I didn’t know much about it and have since done a lot of research. While I do still like Adagio matcha and drink it every day,, and am not an expert, I don’t believe this is ceremonial grade. The color is dull and muddy, not vibrant and green as with other matches I’ve tried.

Once my stash is gone I will likely not buy Adagio matcha again.

Hard to review this, as this is the first matcha I have ever had. On it’s own, and not comparing it to anything else:

It’s a little seaweedy, green tea tasting, umami, and surprisingly creamy, considering I am drinking ground up leaves.

It’s definitely something I will finish.

I purchased the tea from the Adagio retail store. The tea is contained in tin canisters. The lids are secured with tape which leave a sticky residue. There is no indication on the canisters about the tea being organic.

I have been a huge fan of matcha for a while now. When Adagio started selling it I couldn’t have been happier. I managed to finally get my hands on a sample. Let me say I was not disappointed! It has a rich matcha flavor that I know and love. It’s much better iced than hot in my opinion. I like how if you let it set for a bit, the flavor seems to grow even stronger. The only thing I would say that I disliked was the fact that the price is a bit much. Especially for the sample where there wasn’t a lot for the price. Other than that the taste is defiantly quality.

Was this the uji matcha or the regular matcha? Thinking about ordering some.
