‘I know a bank where the wild thyme blows, Where oxlips and the nodding violet grows, Quite over-canopied with luscious woodbine, With sweet musk-roses and with eglantine: There sleeps Titania sometime of the night, Lull’d in these flowers with dances and delight’ -Shakespeare
My name, Tanya, is a familiar form of Titania, so I feel a special affinity for the Queen of the Faeries. Before Shakespeare, she had no name, but he gave her an honorary title which came from the collective title of the daughters of the Greek TItans. There is such a beautiful history in myth and folklore of the name and the person, she deserved a beautiful tea!
