Perch’s Afternoon Tea Blend is based on a Yunnan variety mixed with Chinese flavored white tea. The black full-bodied Yunnan forms the basis for a rounded and soft tea blend with mild notes of fruit and berries. The blend contains fresh flavors of pomegranate, elderberry and pear, as well as a mild vanilla aroma.
As the name of this mixture so nicely suggests, it is excellently suited for afternoon pleasures, and will satisfy the craving for something sweet and fruity. The tea can be enjoyed warm, but it is also recommended to drink the tea as iced tea on warmer days.
Recommended preparation: 100°C water / 10 g per liters of water.

The dry aroma reminded me of an Icewine black tea I bought in Canada once. The wet aroma is fruity, cranberry, elderberry, and dark cherry. Slightly woody. The woody notes come through more in the flavor. There is also a hint of dark chocolate but mainly the flavors revolve around the fruit. Tart fruits, not overly sweet. The vanilla is present when the aroma of the liquor comes close to your nose but otherwise, I find it not to be a strong presence. A slight bit of astringency as well.
