Tea of the Week for March 28, 2016!

Yeah, try fitting that onto a label, will ya? I couldn’t, so I had to trim the “white tea” off of the label because I figured people could read the ingredients and know what kind of tea serves as the base. (It’s our white peony base!)

This tea was created as a special HAPPY BIRTHDAY for the husband of one of our customers – and this is seriously a big cup of YUM! Well, unless you only pour yourself a small cup. In that case, it’d be a small cup of YUM. But once you’ve tasted it – you’d wish you’d poured yourself a larger cup!

The pineapple is a forward note – as is the kumquat. When I first started sipping, I tasted mostly pineapple but as I continued to sip, the kumquat started to emerge. The ginger is a warm and welcome presence, adding a nice contrast of peppery spice. The coconut – while it seems to be a rather strong scent to this tea (especially in it’s dry form) is not as strong as it smells. It indeed tastes like a ‘topping’ rather than the main event. And the white tea – although delicate – also provides its unmistakable flavor of sweet crispness. This is really lovely!

Taster size is approximately 1/2 ounce.

organic ingredients: white tea, freeze-dried pineapple bits, ginger root, coconut and natural flavors.

Third coconut tea of the day. I don’t usually taste much when it comes to white tea, but this one is flavorful. I can’t say I’m getting all the flavors in the description, but I do taste something. Ginger is the primary experience here. And the coconut still isn’t rancid!

This could well be the one I am drinking at the moment. And if so, it is very delicious :)

When I opened the packet, I was worried about the coconut. Will this be the first and only blend of Anne’s in which the coconut has gone off? Nope, it is perfectly fine.

On my third steep and then added cold water to the leaves to see what comes of it overnight.

White tea is not my usual go-to, but when I do get around to it, I enjoy it immensely.

Aw, this tea is from 2016 and your tasting note is the first. I actually thought this was a new tea, so I had to go over and look.
