I have a list of eight blends that I’ve been working on, any of which could have been our tea of the week this week. None of them are. I got some more guayusa in from the folks at Runa and it has been staring at me, calling to me, begging me to create a new blend with it. I was struggling to figure out what to blend it with last week, when it came to me: Rainforest Chai.
The guayusa is so BOLD and rich, I can’t believe I didn’t think of blending a chai out of it sooner. It stands up quite well to the cinnamon, cardamom, ginger and clove. Be prepared to enjoy the smoothest chai you’ve ever tasted.

OK, finally opened my package of Rainforest Chai that arrived a week or so ago. I decided to go latte with it before even tasting it, so I am not going to rate it numerically just yet. I feel like I need to try it without the milk first, but I have been missing chai latte since I used up my Spicy Ginger from 3rd Street.
As a latte, this is remarkably smooth. Even the spices are smooth in this. That’s not to say they aren’t spicy, but, they just don’t have any rough edges right now. It’s completely yummy, and this is one that should be put on the permanent collection! I like!
this one’s also great with snickerdoodles. Or gingersnaps :-)
