Tea of the Week for March 25, 2024!

With Spring here (a little earlier than I wanted it to be, really!) I figured I should focus on bright, fruity flavors. This tisane certainly fits the bill!

The base is our organic green rooibos. The natural flavor of green rooibos tends to be light, fruity & refreshing – a perfect base for the flavors of Mango & Lime to really shine! The bright, tart notes of lime play well with the sweet & tangy flavor of mango. The cup is a little sweet, a little tart, & super tasty!

As good as this naturally caffeine free cuppa is when served hot, it’s even better when cold-brewed! So refreshing! It’s also organic, vegan, gluten-free & allergen-friendly!

organic ingredients: green rooibos, mangos, limes & natural flavors

to brew: shake the pouch before measuring. Use 3 ½ grams of leaf to 12oz of very hot water (190°F) & steep for 10 minutes. Strain & enjoy!

serving suggestion: as I mentioned above, I prefer this tisane served over ice after cold-brewing. I generally cold-brew my teas/tisanes overnight, using about the same ratios that I mentioned above (3 ½ grams of leaf to 12 oz of water) & let that steep for at least 8 hours (or longer if you want – the flavor just intensifies as you steep – rooibos won’t get bitter!

This is a great tea for spring! Cold-brew a pitcher of this tea for a delightful, cold cuppa refreshment! The perfect way to deal with those hot days ahead!

Sample sipdown! A sample of this was included with my latest 52teas order – thank you!

There was enough leaf to make two mugs, so I just made two back-to-back in order to finish it off. This is a really easy drinker. The lime is just the right level of tart, with the mango sweetness coming in at the back of the sip. Honestly, I can’t really taste the green rooibos much at all, I’m really just getting those two fruity flavors. Great way to stay hydrated… come to think of it, I’m pretty sure I forgot to drink actual caffeinated tea today!

I knew I was planning on preparing tacos for dinner tonight, so I decided to cold-brew this tea overnight so that I could have a delicious iced tea today that goes really well with tacos! (I’m sure that it goes well with other foods too, but the mango/lime combo screams tacos to me!)

Anyway, this blend is so good. The combination of mango & lime is a winner. The mango is pleasantly sweet-tart & the light green rooibos base is really refreshing, while the lime brightens the sip. It’s light, sweet/tart & thirst quenching.

This tea is really good hot, but I prefer it cold-brewed. It doesn’t need sweetening, but I find that with a little bit of honey – it just brings it to a whole other level. Amazing!
