576 Tasting Notes
This is one of those teas I enjoy because it’s hard to mess up. I also love the name! As a military and gun buff, it’s fitting. Dry, the leaves remind me of the inside of a Sunny Surplus store. Not sure if anyone will have any idea what I mean…
It’s smoky, but not overkill like Lapsang can be.
I also enjoy this cuppa while playing any game in the Call of Duty series on my beloved xbox 360! :)
I enjoy this version much more than the Stash variety, which was paler in color and blander in flavor. This version has a touch of smokiness and I’m sure would pair great with something minty… A new blend to try! :)
No rating as this is one of my own blends.
I just love the mix of chocolate, vanilla (cream) and cherry. Often I can’t have chocolate – I’m allergic to an enzyme that is in milk chocolate and many dairy products (including ice cream). So drinking my chocolate is truly bliss.
The folks at Adagio do a great job blending. I run through this one often, and it tastes the same each batch – the perfect harmony of cherry, chocolate and cream.
Just don’t seep longer than four minutes, unless you enjoy bitter-ish tea…
Preparation
This used to be one of my favorite bagged varieties. I guess it still is… I like that lack of tart, that HIBISCUS that many fruity teas tend to have. This is bold and hearty, with a twinge of raspberry. I added some sweetener, to enhance the flavor.
…
OK, OK. I added it because I have a sweet tooth. You caught me!
I swear this used to be called English Breakfast. Now it’s English Teatime and there’s a pink box for English Breakfast…
Anyway, the chai didn’t wake me up enough so I went hard core. This has a very pleasant tea taste, robust and hearty. And caffeine-y.
I need to find my “fast lane” tea – that’ll get the job done.
Beginning my day with this cuppa. It’s been another fun-filled week of migraines. I dragged my butt in today but I’m ready to pass out. Thank goodness for hearty teas like this one! Please see other notes; this is a fave…even if it is from the evil empire, Teavana. ;)
I’m sorry you have migraines! I suffer from frequent migraines also. Caffeine helps me but I must stay indoors due to light sensitivity all the time like a mushroom. Funny but true! Chai spice if there is Chili may not be best for migraine. Look up migraines diet.
I’m having a lazy Friday – I don’t feel like messing with loose teas and the filter bags. I’ve had a rough work week and am SO GLAD it’s Freakin’ Friday. So I’m enjoying this cupboard staple.
I raised the rating slightly because I do love the mix of chai spice with vanilla and a hint of honey flavor. Steep it for about five minutes and you’re in for a spicy treat.
I added some sugar to reward myself for it being Friday. I also like to add sugar to balance and enhance spicy flavors. This one is no exception.
Preparation
This is a fun tea – tastes just like raspberry and dark chocolate, two of my favorite things. (I can’t do milk chocolate, allergic. But luckily NOT allergic to dark chocolate.) I purchased the V-day set to share with my husband…OK, I just bought it for myself. But he can enjoy some of it, if he wants.
My only issue with this tea is that you can’t really steep/infuse it more than once. It’s a great, hearty and delish cuppa, just once. I have that issue with many Adagio teas, but since they are inexpensive I don’t worry about it too much.
I treated myself to the V-day tea set which includes this white tea wonder. I started with Ripe for Romance, which is basically raspberry and chocolate…and not too impressive. But this one… totally different experience!
I tend to prefer green and/or white teas, so perhaps that’s the reason I adore this one. (Ripe for Romance contains black tea.)
The ingredients are weird – lavender and peach? Are you crazy?! But the end result is a flavorful bouquet of sweet peach and a hint of floral. I mainly taste the peach/apricot. After sipping there is a hint of lavender/floral on your tongue, but I wouldn’t call this a lavender tea by any means.
It’s light and delicate, a great afternoon tea – especially for those who are trying to cut back on caffeine (currently under a threat by my doctor). I imagine this would taste nice iced as well but it’s far too cold outside to think about that right now!
I’ve put my own homegrown spearmint leaves in with gunpowder, then iced it. Good stuff!
I’m starting to get into gunpowder too!
ooh! That sounds amazing! MUST TRY! I’ll have to grab some sprigs from Mom. Maybe the chocolate mint variety too!
This sounds cool for my 11 year old grandson…tea drinker…into his xbox and military stuff. His cousin died in Afganistan recently (Memory Eternal).
