New Tasting Notes

I didn’t care for this one much. While it’s not terrible, it’s not as good as it seems like it should be. You can taste a bit of the cherry, but no caramel or butterscotch. While I’ve had some decent oolongs from The Tea Table, both of the flavored teas I have tried have left a lot to be desired. I don’t think I’ll be trying any more.

This was…not my cup of tea. The pistachios were overwhelming, and the spices were just odd to me. I did, however, like the way it smelled. I’m sure some people would enjoy this tea, but I definitely won’t be purchasing it again.

I got this sample in the mail and really did not like it. I like the idea of having cayenne pepper in a tea, but it just doesn’t work with this. To me, at least. Also, I can’t stand the taste of fennel seed, so that really ruined it for me.

This was also pretty weird. I’m not sure how I feel about this brand now, but at the same time, these were just samples I got in a trade. Anyway, it tastes like cherry cobbler to me, and it has a sort of creamy quality, but I found it kinda bland. Maybe I’ll try it with 2 teaspoons and see what I think. I couldn’t really taste the butterscotch chips.

This tea is so weird. Not only are there whole pistachios in it, there’s also cumin spice (which is used in making tacos) and peppercorns. While it does have a sort of sugar-cookie-ish taste, it does also sort of taste like… butter. And spices. It’s not necessarily a bad thing. But at the same time, I think this will have to be an acquired taste.

So, I’m having a fresh cup of this tea, and decided to give live commentary. Brewed a teaspoon of it in approximately on cup of boiling water using a pre-heated mug for four minutes. The smell is surprisingly sweet. Taking a sip, the flavor is also sweeter than I remembered it being. If it were much sweeter, I don’t think I’d like it, but as is it’s alright. I can easily imagine myself growing to like this more, but right now I think I like the idea of this tea more than the actual flavor.
I should also comment that I am using the same mug I made the chamomile in last night, although that wasn’t very sweet itself, and I did rinse the mug out with boiling water when I was warming it, so I don’t think the chamomile could affect the flavor, at least not perceptibly.

Oh god. One sniff and I was instantly reminded of orange-scented disinfectant. This stuff is TERRIBLE. I took a few sips, trying to find something I liked about it, but I just couldn’t. I dumped it out shortly after. It’s blindingly artificial. Awful, awful, awful.

This tea is alright. I like the black tea taste, but it’s kind of unremarkable otherwise. However, it really does live up to its name. I get a pretty nice caffeine buzz from it! So it’s great right before going to work.

One of my favorite Adagio teas! It was one of the first I’ve ever tried, too. The mango taste isn’t overwhelming along with the ceylon. I’ve noticed a lot of mango teas have a strong orange flavor added, but this one doesn’t. It’s just so good.

This is very good. The peach isn’t overwhelming, and the oolong and white peony blend is wonderful.

Another one of the teas I usually have on hand. I don’t usually like berry flavored teas, because they tend to taste too artificial to me, like koolaid or something. This one, however, is very nice. It’s delicious hot and cold.

I would have never thought to put sage in a tea, but it was a great idea. I’ve been drinking this tea on and off for years. It’s a mainstay for my tea collection.

I infused these leaves for the fourth time today, and still got good results. I’m definitely planning to buy more of this once my sample is gone.

The sun finally came out, so what better way to celebrate than with a cooling tea, and the first green tea of the year on the market? Although this isn’t the highest grade of dragon well by a long shot (the leaf size and shape is very inconsistent) it’s brisk, fresh, and far sweeter than most dragon wells on the market. Nummy!

Wow… I thought this tea sounded like a good idea. I usually love berry flavored anything, but I couldn’t stand this stuff. It has a strange scent that turned me off before I brewed it. Couldn’t even finish my first cup. I ended up dumping it out.

Nothing but love, love, love for guanabana! I need to get myself a big tin of this. It does taste very exotic in a way that’s hard to describe. There is a sort of strawberry-ish flavor, and definitely some citrus, but otherwise… this is just a tea you have to try to understand. It’s a favorite for me, and my friends really like it, too. Last time I made tea at a friend’s house, everyone ended up drinking two cups. It’s especially yummy with a glob of honey.

Of the few Zodiac Series teas I’ve tried, this is the one I’ve liked the most. It tastes of peach, but it’s a light flavor as compared to the taste of the tea itself. I think it’s a great tea for summer, and it’s good iced, too! I served it to a few of my friends and they enjoyed it as well. But maybe I favor it because I’m a Gemini, myself…

This is my favorite tea by Tazo. It brews up deep red and smells delicious. Like citrus, hibiscus and something else that’s wonderful. It has a very strong flavor, which is something I look for, and tastes even better cold. I love it iced! I just wish I could get it in loose form instead of bagged.

This was a really interesting tea. It’s a blend of oolong, chamomile, and rooibos. I’m not usually a fan of rooibos, but I liked this. Its flavor reminds me of a dreamsicle… vanilla and orange are the strongest tastes. But it’s not an artificial orange. It tastes very natural and creamy. And it’s fun to brew with all the little chamomile flowers floating at the top.

This tea is delicious! It even has little dried blueberries in it. :D I usually go with two and a half teaspoons instead of one because I like my tea to have a stronger flavor. When it comes to Adagio, I’m usually not too impressed with their white teas, but this one is great. It’s the perfect tea to get into whites if you haven’t tried any.

Lightly sweet and relaxing. If I steep for more than 3 minutes it gets a bit too strong for my tastes.

There’s just something about this tea that I don’t like. It has a great, strong black tea taste, but at the same time, I couldn’t really taste the cream. There was a sort of sour flavor, like cream that maybe sat out a little too long. I know this is a favorite to others, but it just didn’t strike a chord with me.
