New Tasting Notes
I had the Aged Earl Grey: Fair Trade Certified™, Certified Organic Italian Bergamot Black Tea. Steeping for 3 minutes (3-5 recommended) produced a perfect cup of tea. I’m not typically an Earl Grey drinker. It is usually too bitter for my tastes. This cup was delightful. The bergamot was not too strong.
Pale, rosy amber liquor, and I love the fragrance. This cup is astringent, but not bitter, so for a change I didn’t add milk, only a little brown sugar. Usually when drinking a Darjeeling, I have moments of wishing it was a rounder, maltier Assam-type, but this time, not so much.
No it’s not the OS (a Mac joke). A very sweet and flavorful tea. Light and refreshing on the palate. Dispels the myth, that you can’t drink tea on a hot day( it was 85 today). Prepped in glass gaiwan, I like to watch the leaves “dance” as the open up. Kept water at 170 degrees, 2 teaspoons , 6 oz gaiwan yielded 4 steepings.
