I was experimenting with the pitcher press and trying to find out how to make a tea pop with it. I don’t have that many teas in large quantities to be able to experiment with but I did have a fair bit of this and it has been getting old so I figured it could be a good one to use.

I had 9 ps left (the old measurement ones that were 1.5 tsps, not 2.5 tsps) so I steeped all of that in 2 cups of 190F water for 8 minutes. I filled the inner pitcher 2/3rds of the way with ice. I then topped my cup with peach perrier. I tried it first and it was somehow overly flavored and under-flavored at the same time. I am getting a lot of the base, with pops of cranberry, but this cup is mostly the carbonated water flavor with green rooibos. Not my favorite.

This was a share from Cameron B. Thank you!!

I cold brewed it for hours though I am not exactly sure how many since I looked at the time when I prepped this but didn’t actually register what I was looking at. It would have to be at least 5-6 hours I would say.

I definitely get peach and watermelon but there is a flatness here I don’t like combined with an artificial/waxiness. Like the weird Tim Hortons peach drink with a void in the middle of flavor and then a watermelon aftertaste. I can’t determine if this would benefit from being a teapop to give it some effervescence or from being sweetened but something is definitely missing and I just can’t put my finger on it.

It is not bad per se but it is not my favorite either. It is an unusual combination of flavors which I enjoy and it is now drowned by hibiscus but something is definitely missing.

I really enjoyed this share from Roswell Strange, thank you!! In fact, the Sororitea Sisters ended up ordering samples from T by Daniel because of my review about this tea. It is like a mix of fuzzy peaches sprinkled with some ginger flavor. A little sweet and slightly spiced. The best of both worlds to keep things in check.

A couple months back I tried a cafe near my house that does High Tea called My Cup of Tea Dessert. They were fairly priced and had pretty unique food choices. Also, they have a new theme each month that is reflected by their food.

Check out pictures here: https://www.instagram.com/p/Bt9jNHCAT10/

As for the tea, they had about 26 options of loose leaf to choose from with only 2 options being plain/non-flavored teas and not that many black tea options (which I found surprising). I ended up going with a green rooibos called Lime Cooler. My tea was minty but sweet from the lime and apple. I thought it went nicely with the foods as it was very refreshing.

Nothing about this tea time was over the top amazing. The food wasn’t the best I ever had and the tea was nice but I wasn’t begging to buy more. However, the experience was a lot of fun. I would definitely return again for a new theme to try out their other offerings.

I really want to go to a high tea. I believe I’ve gone once, to a place in Guelph, but I want to try out other places! Someday, someday.

drank Grapefruit Green Tea by 52teas

I have been watching Supergirl and totally forgot to drink this so it is warm, though nearing cool. I was worried because I am not a huge fan of grapefruit but I won this and still wanted to give it a try. Honestly, it is quiet good. Not surprising as most 52 Teas are quiet good but I did not expect to enjoy a grapefruit tea all that much. In fact, I was already trying to figure out who I would be giving the rest of this too after I inevitably tried it and didn’t like it.

The grapefruit flavor is there and distinct but not too in your face. I don’t love how sour/bitter grapefruits can be but this is the flavor without the sour/bitter. And it goes really nicely with the green base which is fresh and almost buttery. This is honestly a really nice citrus tea. So maybe I won’t be passing it along just yet. Thank you Anne for sending this my way!

The only show I’ve watched from the Arrowverse is The Flash (and I’ve loved it) but I’m considering watching either Legends of Tomorrow or Supergirl next; would you recommend Supergirl?

VariaTEA

I watch the entirety of the Arrowverse and love it all. Each show has its ups and downs for sure but I enjoy them all. When I first watched Supergirl I hated it and refused to watch it but then I got super bored and it was on Netflix and I have grown to love it so I would recommend it but warn that it might take a bit to get into.

drank Smoky Butterscotch Peach by 52teas

This sipdown is a bit overdue because this last cup is a mere shadow of what this tea once was. Faint smoke and a touch of peach but this tea has seen much better days. Goodbye tea. Perhaps we shall meet again in the future but I’ve had a lot of this one so I am ok with saying goodbye.

tea-sipper

I’ve grown to love this blend more over time… it’s probably time I finish my sample.

Maddy Barone

I love this one too, but mine is long gone.

Kittenna

IIRC mine hasn’t held up terribly well, and I have a bunch left. Sigh.

Christening my donut mug with this tea. It is super hard to wash and not that easy to drink out of but it’s very cute so I’m happy.

As for the tea, it’s still pretty good. Lots of pastry and vanilla/cinnamon notes. It’s not in your face with the rose flavor which I like. It’s actually quite a nice tea and despite its age, its held up pretty well.

My brother also bought me a donut mug, but it’s more for shelf sitting, also because it looks like a pain to clean! (I was wishing I had donuts this morning, as well…)

VariaTEA

We just ended up buying 5 dozen Krispy kremes

Whoaaaaaa… now that is a donut craving. Yum. :D

This tastes a little waxy and a little fruity with a dash of cinnamon. It’s not bad because it has fairly nice cranberry flavor with an underlying fig. However, it’s not my favorite. Could be a nice caffeine free option in Fall since it definitely has that flavor profile and it is different than other caffeine free blends. I may toss this in to a cart if I was buying and needed to hit free shipping.

A raspberry coconut hot chocolate sounded delicious. Too bad I cant really taste either flavor. Oh well.

ETA: The more I drink the more raspberry comes through. Its subtle and ok. Nothing special unlike Monkey Chop or Gingerbread Brulee which were both awesome.

My cupboard has grown exponentially since joining this site and I have a lot to share. Feel free to snoop through my cupboard and message me if anything interests you – I am always happy to swap!

For me, flavored teas are definitely my sweet spot. I will most often reach for black teas and rooibos or honeybush blends but I do keep some flavored whites and greens around for when the mood strikes. I have a few herbals/tisanes but most of the time I find myself disappointed by them as they often smell deliciously sweet and then end up tasting tart/sour. I have a little bit of an aversion to pu’erh and oolong teas. I am also wary of florals, earl greys, and chai teas. I do not like overpowering citrus flavors nor do I usually like hibiscus, licorice or chamomile. I love dessert teas – caramel, vanilla, toffee, cookie, cream, and other sweet flavors make me smile. Fruits like strawberry, peach, mango, and pineapples will often catch my attention as well.

I have also realized that although I really enjoy adding frothed milk to some of my teas, if I do not like the tea with zero additives (just in plain water without milk or sugar), I probably won’t drink it. The one exception is flavored matchas which I will happily drink in cold milk if I do not like it mixed with hot water. My theory is if the tea can’t stand on its own then it is not for me and I will more than likely try to swap it out for something else.

Tea Ratings Guide (as of December 10, 2017)
90-100 Teas I NEED on hand at all times
80-89 Teas I want to keep around for a cup every now and then
70-79 Teas I am glad I have around and can experiment with but probably don’t need more than what’s in my cupboard
60-69 Teas I would not turn down a cup of from a friend but that would probably be enough
50-59 Teas I can see why someone would enjoy but are not for me
Under 50 Teas I really did not like and most likely got dumped
