Adorable little tea room near Grand Army Plaza in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn, New York. Sweet vintage feel and wonderful service. I celebrated my birthday with some friends and everyone was really pleased with their tea selection. The food was wonderful and we left full and happy. We sat out in their cozy covered back garden – it felt very private and comfortable. Loved the scones, the food in general was really tasty, and they even served a French onion soup (minus the cheese and bread) infused with some lapsang souchong that was delicious! Loved my tea (cardamom vanilla black) so much that I bought some at the owner’s vintage store a few doors down from the tea room.
A few notes: they are reservation only – no walk-ins. Their hours are quite limited so make reservations well in advance. You have three prix fixe services to choose from, no a la carte ordering. And since they are small with limited hours, lingering is not a good option – once they place the check on your table, you are expected to pay and go. Sounds a bit harsh, but we never felt rushed and were treated with such lovely hospitality the entire time we were there. There are a few vegetarian options, but no vegan and no dairy free alternatives yet. Do not use the phone number above for reservations – there is a separate number for that on their website.
Looking forward to visiting this place again sometime!
