218 Tasting Notes
Weehee! 100th tasting note. I know, I’m a baby compared to lots of people on here. But its only just begining.
This was really yummy, not as ‘strong’ as a black chai (sorry, really don’t know how to describe that), and the chocolate gives it a hint of sweetness. Looking forward to playing around with milk and honey additions in the future.
Preparation
Another of the bf’s faves. He’s had 2 100g boxes in about 3 months, and I haven’t had a chance to taste it myself yet! But this is a match made in tea heaven for him. Being both a fan of vanilla and caffeine sensitive, its one of his favourite night time teas. Hopefully I’ll actually get a sample out of the next box and I can let you all know what I think. It smells pretty good anyway!
A perfect spot to end the backlogging…
Preparation
I like this, when you get a bit of everything in the steep…
My only sample of this is from last year’s advent calendar. My first cup had a bit of walnut, a bit of pineapple and a nice amount of green. I really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, subsequent cups have been lacking on the pineapple or the green tea, so its been a bit odd. But I imagine if I’d had a 50g bag it might’ve worked a bit better! Rating this based on the best cup I had.
Preparation
I’ve only had one cup of this, but its really nice. A good earl grey, and excellent for a night time earl grey if you’re caffeine sensitive.
Like my other half. He’s one of those “can’t have caffeine after 4” people, and he ADORES this. His first box was bought about 8 months ago, and I think he’s been through about 200g all by himself. Just loves it. I’ll rate this for him.
Preparation
This one is a sugar based tea, so its a instant option. I’ve had one lot as a sample in the T2 store, and its sweet and apple-y. I got given a box (along with the cherry version) for my birthday and they are nice hot when you’re looking for a sweet and tangy instant pick-me-up or treat. I imagine it’d ice well, using a pour-over ice method. Will review again later with an iced glass when its a bit warmer. Not sure I’d actually go out and buy a box for myself, but I’ll enjoy drinking it none-the-less.
Preparation
I actually really like this one. Its very unusual hot. The bamboo makes a light but tasty base, and hot the peppercorns are the prominent flavour. Its not an agressive taste, but its there. I quite like it, which is surprising considering I don’t really like them in food. Iced, its a very soft tea. I like to amp up the flavour by adding actual strawberries. A light, soft tea iced. Have about 25g left, will enjoy finishing it.
Preparation
This was a sample tin from the advent calendar last year. I have a little left, should probably finish it! It was tasty, and did what was on the box, but to be honest, and bit unremarkable. I have some organic straight chamomile, and I think I prefer it straight. A nice blend though.
Preparation
This was more a favourite of the other half’s when we were in Canada last year. He had this iced almost every time we went to a DT, so I got 50g and bought it home. Think there’s only about a cupful left now, should probably finish this one! Its sweet and soft and ices really well. Hits the spot on a hot day.
Preparation
This was a sample from my DT order in July. Had it iced with dinner a while ago. It was sweet and tasty as an iced tea, but didn’t really blow me away. Wasn’t really pear-y enough for me, but perhaps that’s a pear variety difference issue between Tasmania and Canada. I wouldn’t order again, but if I happened to be in a store and the iced tea $1 special was on, or it was TOTD, I wouldn’t knock back a cup.
Congrats on 100! I’m not quite there myself. And a chocolate chai flavoured oolong sounds interesting – never would have considered those flavours with an oolong base.
congrats!! :)
Yeah, congradulations!
Congrats on 100!
