Felt a little adventurous and alchemist this morning … sweetened this with a little blop of marshmallow cream. Oh, my, pie!

Still able to scrape teaspoons from what seems to be a bottomless, magically replenishing tin…ever had one like that? Anyway, just to mix it up a little, I dropped in a couple droplets of caramel latte sweetener. Not bad!

(Addendum: I am blessed with co-workers who love to cook and share; there are fresh cinnamon rolls in the breakroom. Suddenly this tea tastes a WHOLE lot better!)

This is on my to-review list for itsallabouttheleaf.com, but absolutely had to stick in a good quick word - even with a goof on my part, chintzy on the leaf as usual; this is GREAT. Golden and caramel and I can’t wait to see what it’s like when I do it right.

Looking back, I’m surprised I hadn’t reviewed this yet, especially since there always seems to be a handful of Stash around the house. No one particular feature or flavor stands out. It’s good, smooth hot leaf juice, and that’s not a bad assessment. Nice with milk.

Was a really ruby red after the full 7 recommended mins, but too tart for my personal preferences…little grenadine and a sugar cube took the edge off. I can see this iced with ginger ale come summer.

3010 tasting notes

Inspired by all you busy little de-cupboarders out there, I decided to start tackling some of my most elderly bits and pieces of tins. This definitely qualifies. Five years old, easily. Since we know older tea loses its edge a bit, I doubled up on the leaf this morning, and by golly! Apricot! (Saw that notation in Harney’s product description, but never got it until now.)

I’m chintzy with the dry leaves and I think that’s probably why I miss out on a lot of good subtle stuff.

Some mornings - like the mornings it takes three times as long to get your eyes open and twice to get dressed because nothing feels cozy enough - you just need to grab the first bag that doesn’t require anything but hot water. This fit on a bad clothes day when nothing else did (beverage or apparel, either one.)
