“Another Traveling Tea Box?!?!”
I’m having so much fun trying the different teas from the box! :-)
There is no mistaking the sencha base in this- It’s definitely warm and grassy sencha. Flowery sencha blends sometimes give me a headache, but this one doesn’t.
There are big chunks of ginseng root in this and it adds a nice warmth to the strawberry flavor, which is fresh-tasting and natural. Rose and orange blossoms sweeten the flavor and smooth out the ginseng a bit. I’m starting to enjoy orange blossoms in blends. I might have to seek out some more.

I thought the blend I had this morning from Tin Roof Teas was quite nice, so I was looking forward to trying this one. The dryleaf is very, very sweet smelling.
I don’t taste much of the base- Lightly veggie and salty from what I can discern.
The sweet flavor is slightly nutty, very floral, and has an aftertaste of bubble gum. There is a slight savoriness from the almonds and cinnamon. Not as good as the blend I had this morning, but definitely better than the adagio blends I’ve had the last few days.
Wow, I have been to TRT a number of times but I have never seen this blend! I have probably tried about nine of their teas now, and I have seen the Oolong Shalimar but never tried it. Cool to see our local tea company on here! It is about an hour away from me.
“Another Traveling Tea Box?!?!” Tea
So after I’d tried all the fruit blends yesterday from Adagio, you’d think I’d have learned my lesson.
Decent ceylon base with a light citrus note and a slight astringency. The flavoring is just off- especially the aftertaste. It reminds me off this horrible vitamin powder drink mix that my co-worker drinks from time to time. It always smells to me of burnt plastic when she mixes it up.
This tea makes me crave Butiki’s Caramel Assam, just to prove to my tastebuds that caramel is still yummy. I wish I had some at work right now.
From “Another Traveling Tea Box?!?!”
The base is a dark, woody oolong with a darkly vegetal aftertaste that manages not to get bitter. The fruit elements are natural tasting. I distinctly taste mango, but I get a generic berry flavor- probably because I’m not familiar with the berry they use in this blend. From the description, I was afraid this would be too perfume-like, but it kind of tastes like the mango, blueberry, banana protein smoothie I get every morning! Yum!
Tea 5 from “Another Travelling Tea Box?!?!”
Very similar to White Peach because it has that same over-ripe fruit taste. Meh. I guess 3rd time is not the charm in this case. I will happily put these back in the box for someone else to enjoy.
4th tea from “Another Traveling Tea Box?!?!” and my second Adagio tea ever.
So far Adagio is not impressing me. The base is actually ok, it comes across as just below the quality of the Teavivre dragonwell I had yesterday, except a little more grassy. Surprisingly, the chocolate is not milk chocolate and is actually pretty good. Unfortunately, the mint really misses the mark and brings the whole blend down. It’s so artificial! I keep getting the image of cheap neon green bubble gum passing through my head as I drink it. It leaves a bitter aftertaste that is not pleasant at all. I may need to dump this one out and I don’t say that a lot.
Sample from “Another Traveling Tea Box??!?!?”
Got the tea box today when I got home and promptly sniffed every open tea. What fun!
I chose this one because it was the end of the day, so I figured would end with some rooibos I also brewed up a cup for my Dad and added a shot of rum to his to help with his cold. I admit I stole a sip of his and the pairing of rum and this tea is quite nice. Kind of like an extra-spiced rum. Lol!
The rooibos in this is creamy and the menthol action of the rooibos works well with the ginger to clear out my sinuses. The apples and coconut give the tea a fruity warmth. It’s like mulled cider with a tropical twist. This would make a great Autumn tea.
