That Yunnan is really good – I have quite a bit, do I need more? Uggg my cupboard is already exploding….

yyz said 11 years ago

I know what you mean… Lately I’ve been lucky that I have only purchased a few things and some Turkish tea glasses but the temptation is rampant and I will need some new Assam shortly!

Yes, Joel has presented some great deals in the past few months. I check his “Deal of the Week” every week. Very good customer service too. I am eagerly waiting for him to stock some 2014 FF Darjeelings.

Best wishes,

Zen Tea is having a sale on everything with 40-70% off till the 25th.
Coupon code: may
If you like oolong, the Shui Hsien is really good!

Dexter said 11 years ago

I wish I hadn’t seen this. Their tea is already inexpensive, but with the discount, it’s crazy cheap. Cupboard explosion incoming…

Marzipan select said 11 years ago

I’m a little confused. I see a few items with “sale” but don’t see any way to tell the sale prices of the others. If the coupon code goes in at checkout how can you tell if it’s a 40% item or a 70% item?

Ubacat said 11 years ago

Ooooh that sounds good. I’ve been looking at Yunan Sourcing but then this caught my interest.

Dexter said 11 years ago

I think the coupon is taking off 40%, but some are already onsale – so you get 40% off the sale price. At least that’s how it seems to me….

Suziqzer select said 11 years ago

It looks like you are right Dexter3657.. I put a few things in my cart to play with it, some on sale and some not. Discount took 40% off what was in my cart.

What is everyone’s favorites at this shop ?

Dexter said 11 years ago

Suziqzer – Obviously it depends on your tastes. I like the Phoenix Black Pearls, and Goji Chockeberry Strawberry. I’ve heard good things about their Marsala Chai and coconut green. It’s pretty inexpensive – LOL I would try a few that catch your attention.

tea-sipper select said 11 years ago

Suziqzer – don’t forget I’m sending you Zen’s Vanilla! I’m getting the package together now. :D

My favorites: Chocolate Mint Rooibos, Phoenix Pearl, Pu-erh Vanilla Mint, Energizing Chai, Jasmine Yinhao, China Keemun, Jasmine Dragon Pearl, EG Cream is the best, Almond Marzipan (and it’s free right now), their Lapsang Souchong is a nice standard, Genmaimatcha, Moroccan Mint, the peppermint is a good thing to mix with other teas. The herbals I’ve tried from them are my favorite herbals too. Both Strawberry Creams are good. Can you tell I love Zen’s teas?

Suziqzer select said 11 years ago

Thanks for the response. I’m considering at least a nice bunch of samples, I do like chai and strawberry, never had chokeberry or black pearls… lots to try! I’m coming around to citrus and bergamot, so the cream earl grey might be a larger amount :)

Hubby likes the occasional oolong, so might grab something that would interest him to try.

tea-sipper select said 11 years ago

You’d definitely be safe with a larger amount of the EGC. It is probably the best EGC for sale right now. :D

Suziqzer select said 11 years ago

OH.. forgot about the vanilla :) Sounds like many of their blends are well liked. Hubby may have a fit when he realizes I’m looking at more.. ;) Good thing I still have some money left from Christmas because I still have 2 other companies I want to buy from soon… Sales just kill that for me! I’m a sucker!

tea-sipper select said 11 years ago

Yeah, just order all of them but the vanilla. haha.

Suziqzer select said 11 years ago

Yikes!… Don’t tempt me! I’m sure there’s a few I could weed out w/o too much trouble.

tea-sipper select said 11 years ago

If it helps, I don’t think I really liked any of the Ceylons, but I don’t usually like Ceylon in general.

Dr Jim said 11 years ago

Well, I was under 150 for about a week (actually, until my order arrives). This was way too good a deal to pass up!

Marzipan select said 11 years ago

Their shipping to the US is really reasonable!

boychik said 11 years ago

Yes, shipping is reasonable. With Yixing pot and teas it came to 7.9. I just placed the order.

looseTman said 11 years ago

Given the sale prices, what quantity of each tea will you order?

boychik said 11 years ago

Black Phoenix Dragon pearls 50 g
Lapsang Sauchong 50g
Keeman Fine 20g
Shui Hsien 20g
Coconut Oolong 20g
I have a lot of tea. It’s my first time for this company. I know that I’m going to love Pearls, they are the main reason for this order. And Yixing pot I wanted to get for couple months. I was just waiting for the right time.

looseTman said 11 years ago

Variety is a good thing!
How about everyone else? What quantity of each tea will you order?

Dexter said 11 years ago

50g of favorites or tisane – 20g of anything I haven’t tried….

looseTman said 11 years ago

I’ve previously received some DAVIDsTEA black teas that were 50g and they didn’t last all that long. I’m considering 200g of two different teas. More tea per shipping charge.

Dr Jim said 11 years ago

My first order to Zen Tea, though I’ve had some via swaps:
Assam Mangalam Second Flush FTGFOP1 50g
Black Tea-Ceylon Decaf 50g
Black tea-Keemun Finest 50g
Green Tea-Moroccan Mint 50g
Green Tea-Coconut 50g
Oolong-Coconut 20g
Fruit tea-Juicy Blueberry 50g
Black-Ginger Peach Decaf 50g
Black tea-Strawberry Cream 50g
Darjeeling TGFOP1 Margaret’s Hope S.F. 50g
Ceylon Ratnapura BOP Special 20g
Black Tea-Ceylon Kenilworth OP 20g
Black tea-Lapsang souchong 20g
Green Tea-Ginger Lemon 50g
Black-Phoenix Pearl Black 100g

All for $43, including S&H. How can you resist?

tea-sipper select said 11 years ago

Zen’s options for pouch sizes really are perfect.

Marzipan select said 11 years ago

I got 50g of each of:

Black-Earl Grey Cream
Fruit-Goji chokeberry Strawberry
Black tea-Strawberry Cream
Fruit tea-Juicy Blueberry
Rooibos-Cream Caramel
Rooibos-Northern Berry

Mandy said 11 years ago

So I might or might not have just placed an order for over 800g of tea. By far the most tea I’ve ever bought at once! Also my first order from Zen, hope they’re all delicious!

looseTman said 11 years ago

Wow! > 800g ( 1.76 lbs.) What did you order?

Mandy said 11 years ago

White Peony(Pai Mu dan)
White tea-Toffee Dream
Black tea-Strawberry Cream
Fruit-Goji chokeberry Strawberry
Rooibos-Almond Marzipan
Rooibos Natural Organic
Pu-erh Vanilla Mint
Herb tea-Cranberry Acai
Green-Organic Yangtze Maofeng
Green-Cherry Rose Organic
Green Tea-Coconut
Black-Phoenix Pearl Black
Rooibos-Cream Caramel
Oolong-Bossa Nova

I just really got into expanding beyond grocery store bagged tea in the past month, but had been holding off on making any large online orders because I was about to move. Finally moved in to the new place last night, and MIGHT have went a little overboard when I saw this sale. I only ended up spending about $40 on nearly 2 pounds of tea, and this way I can try a bunch of new things.

looseTman said 11 years ago

Congrats on your new place! :-)
Variety is a good thing as it helps you discover what you like best.

Mandy said 11 years ago

OH gosh, I messed up my address in my shipping information! I forgot a word in the street name! I emailed CS, I just hope they haven’t shipped it yet, and see the email before they do. I’m such a goof.

Edit: They were able to fix it! Phew!

looseTman said 11 years ago

I also placed an order with Kenneth @ Zen Tea Life during their May sale:
– Assam Mangalam Second Flush FTGFOP1 – 200g (7 oz.) http://steepster.com/teas/zen-tea/30455-assam-mangalam-second-flush-ftgfop1
- Black tea-Keemun Finest – 200g (7 oz.) http://steepster.com/teas/zen-tea/46734-black-tea-keemun-finest
The website pricing includes a 10% quantity discount for the 200 g size plus the 40% off sale = 50% total discount!

You have to put items in the cart, then put in the coupon code: May. It takes it off before you continue to checkout. It says 40-70% off, you can’t tell which items are which percentage unless you do them 1 by 1. Hope this helps.
