More blends! I haven’t had most of these in a while, so it’s nice to try them out again.

I definitely enjoy this blend. A bit creamy/marshmallowy, sweetly floral, a tiny bit fruity. It is a bit of a spring bouquet, but I like it that way.

Here’s another of my blends club teas that I am trying to drink up. I really did not expect to like this one… too many “weird things” in the blend. Not to mention that one of the base teas is a Zheng Shan Xiao Zhong, which is listed as “smoked” and I hate smoke in tea! But it turned out really tasty! Consider my horizons expanded.

No smoke flavor in this one, just a tasty blend of spices and malty black tea, with hints of cream and a bit of piney-ness (but not too much!). It honestly reminds me more of fall than spring, but it’s almost fall anyway. A nice blend!

I drank the last of this tea down as a cold brew yesterday. I had ordered this one on a whim and didn’t expect to like it all that much, but I actually really really enjoyed it. I decided to sip it down as a cold brew mostly because I am trying to make room in my cupboard and weed out some of the Dammann teas I’m not in looooove with, but I am sad this one is gone. It was fantastic as a cold brew too. Tons of figgy and berry jam flavor, and yay, no lavender!

Wow, Steepster is really f’ed up, isn’t it? Even the discussion boards aren’t working right. Hopefully it will work itself out soon.

I have realized that the best way for me to work down my cupboard numbers is probably to regularly drink up the Blends Club blends that I receive every month. It’s tempting to hoard some of them because I can’t get any more of them, but I have to fight the impulse and just enjoy them for what they are. Most of them I probably wouldn’t restock anyway, although I tend to find them tastier than some people. It helps to like florals in the Blends club (it also helps to like licorice and fennel, but I deal).

Anyway, this tea is quite tasty. The cocoa and berries go well together. Will happily drink this one regularly and will be a bit sad when its gone.

I’m marking this as a sipdown even though I have a tiny bit left, because what I have left is mostly crumbs and will just be used up in a different cold brew. I’ve been cold brewing this one and it has been AMAZING. Really, really delicious and refreshing. Just lightly citrusy, and really a perfect iced tea. Would definitely buy more of this for cold brewing in the future.

I am going to try to drink this tea up soon as well because it is old. Fortunately when I bought this tea (in Beijing) it was super fresh, because now it is something like 3 years old and it’s still delicious. Pretty amazing! A delicious jasmine green, somehow even more delicious than most pearls I’ve had. Which is why I’ll be sad when it’s gone, even though its time has come.

Mmm, now this one is delicious. I haven’t had this tea in a long time and at first I thought my love for it may have waned, but not the case. Still a tasty, citrusy tea, lightly flavored, on a nice malty base. This one takes me back to when I was in Ulaanbaatar since that was the first time I drank this tea, and I drank a lot of it. I may be able to transition this tea to a smaller tin soon (and use it’s tin for one of the new 100g of tea that will be coming in with my next order), so I may be drinking more of this one!

Steepster seems to be up for the moment, so here are some quick notes.

I brought this one home to cold brew and try to use up since it isn’t one of my favorites from Dammann. I had it this morning as a pre-work tea, and I remembered why. It falls a little flat for some reason; it isn’t a great representative of Dammann’s good stuff. Of course I am sending a sample of this to Cameron B… thankfully also a sample of Figue Fraiche, which I believe is a better example. Don’t judge them all on this one, Cameron! :)

Sipdown for this one. This was a very tasty Tan Yang, and I’m glad I tried it out. I will say that I don’t think that it’s necessarily spectacular; it’s quite delicious, obviously high quality, and I drank it up pretty quickly, but it doesn’t make me go WOW. It has nice grain flavor, molasses, honey, and a hint of raisin.

Overall my experience with JK Tea Shop has been that their teas are all really tasty and high quality, but nothing unique enough to drive me to order regularly from them. This Tan Yang has been my favorite, and would be a contender for a future order had anything else also caught my tastebuds. But I’m glad I’ve tried some of their teas now! I was always curious about them.

This, like Fleurilége, was a sad sipdown but not too sad, because it will be reordered very soon. The saddest sipdowns are for the teas that you can’t get any more of, ever. Now I just have to keep working hard on sipdowns because I am still 13 teas away from 100 teas in my cupboard and my DF order. It’s taking forever.

Easily one of my favorite teas, this morning it held it’s own against a speculoos, nutella and maple-syrup drenched waffle. Deliciously caramelly to the last drop. See you soon, Caramel-Toffee!
