The most authentically apple thing I’ve had in the last few weeks. I quite enjoyed it, though one bag to two cups wasn’t my best idea. Ah well, it conserves the tea.
Smells and tastes a bit like green apples – sort of on the candy side, but quite nice. After the terrible Celestial Seasonings Apple Cinnamon episode, I am pleased to find an apple I like.
Preparation
Found some of this in the “far back” of my tea cupboard while digging out some favourites over the weekend. I brought the few remaining bags with me to work to use while at reception/switchboard. Had a sore throat this morning so I went for this one rather than a bagged black and was glad I did. I still quite like this one for a bagged tea, the flavour comes through as sweet mandarin, but not cloyingly so. I’ve had trouble finding nice orange teas, so this one is a treat. : )
Okay, it finally happened. I finally, after more than a year of loose leaf love, have fallen out of love with my bagged Twinings Black Currant. It makes me sad, but also excited becuase now I can officially begin the hunt for an amazing loose black currant. Unfortunately, I rarely see ‘plain’ black currant black teas. What’s up with that? : )
I love black currant black tea, it’s been very difficult for me to find the “right” one. The closest was 52 teas, their black currant white tea is damn good. There’s this place called Jason’s Deli, now they have black currant tea that’s perfection. But they won’t release the info who makes it! If you find a good one, please do tell!
Spent the second half of my lunch-hour enjoying a mug of this and the newest Dan Brown novel. I know, I’m behind the times in my “literature” but I really enjoy him and my mother gave me this for Christmas. The tea was delicious (juicy, solid black currant flavour, as always) and a lovely pairing to my book and day. A nice upper on this grey sleepy day.
I’m now enjoying a second mug of this delicious treat – I find I can always get two solid cups out of one teabag, and sometimes three. I’m running low on my stock at work, I might have to bring some in from home soon..
Oh my. Somehow I’ve forgotten how delicious you are, both hot and cold. Luckily, this morning, I was reminded. Juicy and fragrant. Black Currant awesome. This is the only tea I’ve managed to have yet today, but oh what a tea it was.
This tea continues to be delicious. I find it to be a very juicy tea, and I’d like toc all it rounded, though I don’t know why. The taste of the currants fill my whole mouth, and there is a lovely juicy flavour the whole way through. It does surprisingly well with a resteep, adn I think I will pop the bag back in some hot water once this cup is gone. I’ve never eaten a currant on its own so I can’t speak to authenticity of flavour, but it is delicious!
Preparation
Got the hottest water my office can offer. I wish I had the time to boil water here, but as the receptionist it just isn’t viable. I continue to love this tea – it starts out by enticing you with a delicious black currant aroma, but then tricks you with it’s dull brown liquor. Expectations rise once again with the first sip, and the tea remains satisfying to the end. Yum yum!
Preparation
It’s a good thing that caffeine has no discernible effect on me because I’m on a roll today. After some shifty tasting teas I felt the need to go for something comforting that I know I love. Black currant, it is! I have a box at home and one at work, and since I spend 9 hours a day here, the work one is going fast.
DELISH!
