Ashmanra’s sipdown challenge – July 2024 Tea #3 – A minty tea
Woowee does this teabag pack a peppermint punch. They are not joking around. The color of the brew almost looks like black tea and I didn’t steep it THAT long (the instructions suggest 10-15 minutes. whoa.) The flavor is herbal, vegetal, but also slightly sweet and VERY minty. This can be used as some serious relief for my headaches. I will try to remember that.
Old Tea Bag Sip Down
Part 1
I couldn’t take it any longer. During halftime, I went through my parent’s tea cupboard. Some were dumped. Some I tried and they failed. And then there were the tea bags. I am doubtful but heck let’s journey. No idea of how long this has been in their cupboard. Despite that, the flavor is pretty good. Let’s see if it goes with Tikka Masala. Actually, yes. It does. Though mint tea complements it better. This ground apple is decent in old age.
Predominantly mint, first and foremost. Under the mint umbrella, I can taste something planty (catnip???), licorice root and stevia but I’m not getting any of the other flavours that are advertised.
I still like it and will have no problem drinking up the box but it would’ve been nice if the licorice especially, was more mild so the lavender would have a chance to shine through.
Flavors: Licorice Root, Mint, Plants, Stevia
Random teabag pulled from my aunt’s stash.
Groggy first cup of the day earlier this week so I don’t remember much. It was good. Not great, but solid. Lemon myrtle is my favorite ‘lemony herb’ compared to lemon balm and lemongrass. It doesn’t have whatever lemongrass does that can sometimes downright turn me off. This tastes of a high, green, lemony note and is ginger spicy and echinacea-y (if you know, you know). Full body from the echinacea and sweet licorice root but ultimately gulpable.
Flavors: Citrusy, Ginger, Green, Lemongrass, Licorice Root, Roots, Spicy, Sweet

For the “A tea available almost anywhere” prompt for this month!
The sick tea to end all sick teas. I drank this with my partner after their latest DJ gig (think vinyl records, not oontz oontz haha). My throat is not used to shouting in bars anymore, and when we return home, lead in our limbs and bags under our eyes, this tea helped us get some relief from shouting at our friends. Naturally, I wouldn’t drink this tea for fun… it’s not really supposed to taste good, it’s just supposed to fill a function. At least to me!
Flavors: Lemon, Licorice
I’ve had this in the past and remember it being better. I’ve had other brands that had more of a calming effect. I would like less licorice root and more lavender. There is a taste I can’t identify and I wonder if it’s the catnip. I’m not sure I’ve had catnip before. There is a slight floral scent and a taste of mint.
Flavors: Floral, Licorice, Mint
I like this one for whatever’s ailing me.
