Sipdown

It is taking me ages to get through these samples from the Coffee Colony. Partially due to our last visit there, the owner was shitting all over other tea brands (this was all said after I made my purchase…). What I found intriguing is that the owner also stated that they get their blends from Davidson’s (not “house blended” as they claim).

Anyway, much of the samples we purchased have been, mildly put, crap. This one wasn’t pleasant at all. It had a sour pumpkin and bitter bite throughout. I added milk to attempt to cut the bitterness, but it didn’t help. The instructions noted to brew at 195F for 3 minutes. This isn’t that old of a sample, so I wasn’t sure what the issue was. I’ve 3 more samples sitting in my sipdown pile, so we shall see how they taste.

PS. I’m an advocate for small businesses—whether online or in-house. I try my very best to support these companies, however, if the experience is unpleasant, that support is gone. I typically will support locally and/or if someone in the community recommends a vendor. There are occasions I’ll jump onboard with “big” companies such as David’s Tea due to their offerings standing outside of the box and I’ve never had a bad experience from them.

PPS. Rant over. :)
