Oh, this is good. Different from my standard Murchie’s blend for the fall, but delicious. It’s missing some of the… astringent/tannic flavour that Murchie’s has, but that’s explained by it being a different blend of teas!

I’m happy I got this, but I still might do an order from Murchie’s for the classic.

Taken with milk and a little maple syrup.

Preparation
200 °F / 93 °C 3 min, 15 sec 3 tsp 18 OZ / 532 ML

I’ve been enjoying this tea SO MUCH. It’s so good in the afternoon with a dollop of milk.

I bought another 100g over the weekend, when I finally managed to go visit my parents. Transit isn’t really safe, especially considering my mom helps care for her mom, so I rented a car and isolated 2 weeks prior, got a super fancy mask for the ferry (because if you’re not on the upper decks, you have to leave your car), etc, etc. It was a procedure, and so expensive, but also super worth it.

Yesterday was my day back home and it was really hard. Today, I’m trying to get through some homework for class. I better get back to that.

gmathis

You did a good thing. Saying that on behalf of moms and dads everywhere.

It was so so so so nice to leave my apartment for a couple days. A big problem with living in a residential city (I live just outside Vancouver) with only one big park close by, is that I spend way too much time just at home. Exploring seems useless because every block is just more of the same houses, and I only want to walk on pavement for so long…

Having this again. Reminiscent of bagged orange pekoe teas, yet more and better.

Malty, delicious, tea. IDK what the flavours are, friends. But it’s good and I like it as a nice basic non-assam black tea.

I’ll have to ask mom to get me more. :)

Preparation
195 °F / 90 °C 3 min, 0 sec 2 tsp 16 OZ / 473 ML

Uhh, whoops. There are now 3 listings (I think?) for the Tea Centre in Courtenay BC! (I shoulda added this when I sent you the teas, Sil!)

Anyways. My mom sent me this. It’s very very reminiscent of bagged Orange Pekoe, but it’s better, and I love it. So comforting to drink something similar to whatever tea bags we had in the house when I was a kid.

With milk as always.

Apparently I should have steeped this at 185F/85C for 1-2 min and done multiple infusions. lol. At least I don’t use straight up boiling water like my parents do?

Preparation
195 °F / 90 °C 4 min, 0 sec 2 tsp 14 OZ / 414 ML

Really excellent “bright” earl grey.

I think I let this sample from OMGsrsly sit too long to get a strong sense of white grapefruit, but that doesn’t change the fact that it still makes up pleasant cup of white tea.

It’s sweet, floral, suggestively tangy, with an almost peppery note. There’s also a sweet, vaguely textural element that reminds me of crystal/rock candies but it’s very light.

Flavors: Bamboo, Citrus, Cucumber, Floral

Preparation
170 °F / 76 °C 4 min, 30 sec
OMGsrsly

Oh too bad. This one was very grapefruit when I got it.

Crowkettle

It was extremely disappointing but not surprising given how I stored it. I’ll just have to pick some up myself when I’m up to buying tea again! :)

Plunkybug

Sounds lovely though, even if less grapefruit than expected.

Super busy these days but i’m still around drinking tea. Trying topost the occasional note here and there, especially if it’s something i haven’t been drinking constantly. This one is from omgsrsly and is delicious! I’d totally consider getting more of this AFTER i get through my fauchon tin :)

This is a really nice coconut tea. Nice and creamy – very enjoyable to drink. Banana it is not.

Thanks OMGsrsly for letting me try this one.

Tried this one again and it’s for sure confused about what it is. KOKO-nut, for sure, but banana? nu uh. Also, leaning towards dislike on this one, as the coconut has taken on that weird flavour that it gets when it’s not rancid but it’s not fresh. Thanks for sharing omgsrsly but no. ;)

Hmm.

I’m not convinced.

This isn’t really a bad tea, but there is almost more coconut than banana.

I’ll have to share it out and see what other people think. ;)

Preparation

Sil

booooooooooooooooooooooo moar banana!

OMGsrsly

Yeah, my opinion too. So that means I’ll share the packet out instead of dumping the whole thing on you. :D

Actually really amazing as an eggnog latte.

I was scared the orange would curdle the milk, but it didn’t. Hahaha. :D

Edit: So I missed 2000, but I have reached 2016! That is a lot of teas. Especially since I don’t post about everything I drink because I’m lazy.

Fjellrev

I picked this up at the tea centre in Courtney yesterday, and I’m glad I did even though my mom kept exclaiming about how gross it smelled. :P My mom is a poopyhead, dissing my tea.

It’s surprisingly orange. When steeped, it smells like the classic tea gingerbread flavouring, but steeped up the oils from the Orange Peel really make themselves known. I had it with milk last night and quite enjoyed it.

The rooibos was a little woody, but not too bad imo. Not as good as Janet’s, but definitely drinkable.

1 tbsp in 16 oz BOILING water (Man, I miss my variable temp kettle!) for 4 min.

Fjellrev

Does she not like rooibos in general or I wonder if it was something else about the tea that makes her think it smells gross? Gingerbread + orange sounds pretty good to me!

OMGsrsly

Hahaha. She generally hated flavoured teas. So maybe the mix between the flavouring and the rooibos?

even though there are flowers in this one, it’s really a nice lovely, gentle white tea. I rather enjoyed this one from omgsrsly it could be a bit stronger in flavour, but i think that would have changed it too much :)
