LiberTEAS sent me a couple of different rooibos blends from this company a while back. I’m just now getting around to having it.
I’m not sure how I feel about the smell of this. I smell apple pie spice, and rooibos. Taste-wise, it’s definitely not a rooibos that I’d recommend. There’s just something that doesn’tsekt well with the other spices. I brewed it for my standard 10 minute steep, it potentially would be better at a lower steep, but can’t say that I’d actually want to try it again.
Preparation
This is a decent rooibos blend, but of the four in the Festive Medley package from Suffuse, I would have to say that this one is probably my least favorite. The reason: I can taste the rooibos a little too much here, including that funky aftertaste that I get from rooibos sometimes. I don’t really like that aftertaste, and with many of the rooibos blends out there, the flavors added manage to conceal that funkiness… but somehow this one missed the mark.
But, a little bit of brown sugar does fix this, and also enhances the apple pie-like flavor. Not my favorite rooibos blend, but, not horrible.
Preparation
Bagged but beautiful! :)
The apple flavor is pairing well with the rooibos and because of that those flavors are in the forefront! It’s a mouthwatering flavor, indeed! the spices are subtle but appreciated. There is a nice lemon in there as well! This was a pleasant surprise!
It’s not overly “pie like” but the Apple and other flavors are nicely done!
