One of the things I did with my Dad during his visit was go for breakfast at St. Viateur’s – which is a super famous bagel spot in Montreal. You gotta get a bagel during your first visit to the city; I’m not even from Montreal and even I know that’s tradition!!

It’s a cool place – they’re open 24/7 and you can go and sit down and eat or just grab some bagels to go. We actually had a sit down breakfast, which is something I’ve not done before – I usually just pick up a Cinnamon Raisin or Rosemary Sea Salt bagel (my two favourites of their offerings) from the counter and bounce/call it a day.

Service was good though; albeit packed/busy (it’s always busy there, but it was Canada Day so it was ESPECIALLY busy). My dad got a Cinnamon Raisin bagel w/ Apple Cinnamon Cream Cheese and I deviated from my norm and went with a Poppy Seed Bagel with Pineapple Cream Cheese and a Chai Latte. I didn’t think the pineapple cream cheese would taste great on either of my usual bagel choices, and I really wanted to try it out. I loveeee pineapple. It was actually very good; arguably better than the bagel itself.

The chai latte was ok; I didn’t expect AMAZING quality tea in the first place so I think my expectations were basically met. I have no idea what tea they used to make it or if it came from a concentrate or something like that; but it was sweet, cinnamon forward and a bit light/milky for my tastes. One of the few cups of tea I was able to squeak in that day though, so I was appreciative of it.
