What to expect?
Answer is there: “Time to chill…steep and sip a delicious combo of organic cardamon and spices”

Need to chill, tomorrow an exam (I have not looked at it at all, probably too busy with tea reviews). Fundamentals of physics, it should not be so hard. And tomorrow till 5 am (Friday) in part time job. Well, poor student needs money for more tea.

Anyway, this herbal blend smells very nice when dry. I do not have much experience with main ingredient (cardamom). When it is steeped, it does not have so nice aroma, but still it is pleasant. Bit of licorce for sure in aroma, bit of ginger. Cinnamon and rose is not much present.

Colour of liquor is (hard to say, as it is in mug), golden, maybe bit green. But certainly clear. It looks so promising.

In taste? I do not know, probably strongly cardamom, bit like lemon(grass). Smooth. Easy drinking. Enjoyable; there are no bad notes. Ginger is weak, so no stingy taste. Good…

Whoa. That was nice blend. Now, quick shower and probably bed. Tomorrow is going to be long day; so if you do not see my reviews for for two days, I am sleeping. Or dead. Or I have not got any tea. Who knows. Thank you derk for one tea bag.

Holy fresh green cardamom. Fresh and in my face. You’ll like this if you like cardamom. I do. This spice tea also contains licorice, ginger, cinnamon and cabbage rose petals. I can pick up on the ginger in the scent of the dry bag as well as in the taste and slight warming sensation. The cinnamon has a faint presence in the aroma of the brewed tea. Licorice gives it a light sweetness and is done well, not overpowering at all. Maybe like adding half a teaspoon of honey. I can’t pick up on the rose. But yeah, clearly cardamom and quite cooling. I’d like to try it cold-brewed.

I bought this at the co-op so it might be available in various health food stores and probably some South Asian markets.

drank VPK Kapha Tea by maharishi ayurveda

Purchased a box of this online from Amazon.com.

In the winter time I tend to feel lethargic, sluggish and lazy. In Ayurvedic terms this signifies a kapha imbalance if you believe in such things. I decided to get an herbal kapha tea to see if it would help to perk me up without any caffeine.

This stuff is VERY strong and potent. It contains ginger, turmeric, saffron, cardamom, black pepper and clove. It tastes a bit like a really spicy soup or some kind of Indian marinade. The clove is a lot stronger than I thought it would be. I have to say, this is pretty invigorating and warming stuff. However, it is not for the feint of heart due to the large amount of spice. I also wouldn’t drink this if I had a stomach ache or heartburn, I think it could cause utter turmoil!

I guess it’s about what I expected but I’m seriously NOT drinking this for the flavor experience, more for medicinal purposes. :)

Ginger and tumeric are supposed to be good for stomach ailments. This tea interests me. Thanks for reviewing it and putting it on my radar.

TeaBrat
