I had this tea in the early afternoon and welll there is nothing to write about. Simple, way too simple EG, not much of bergamot, rather lemony taste. Tea base was poor bagged Ceylon with 3 minutes of steeping strong enough to add milk. I haven’t though.
Another dismal from Liran.
Flavors: Lemon
Preparation
On tea wrapper design, there is a cantaloupe melon and ginger. Nothing telling Apricot to me, but the text. Seeing only again flavours in and not actual things in makes me again very sad. Steeps rapidly.
I did only 3 minutes steep (there is suggested 3-5 minutes), but after 3 minutes I received a mug of very dark opaque oily liquor. It isn’t inviting to drink at all and honestly, it doesn’t taste good either. It stains my mug a lot as well.
It’s flat black tea, a lot of tannins in, and flavouring? Nope. Very, very weakly ginger. Apricot? Some fruitiness is there, but not sure if it is that apricot or cantaloupe. Not a similar flavour, but because of that tannic base I could not decide what I am actually tasting!
Not worth trying again/ordering. Just a weird cup.
I wonder, if you are even interested in notes of those small (probably) brands that you probably never try, because they aren’t distributed world-wide and sometimes it is very limited offer?
Preparation
Sometimes a tasting note is to signal what not to drink again. I like reading about different or even similar tea from other countries.
So, this tea. Liran seems to be Czech company, with quite wide distributor network… they offer tea from Liran, Impra, McCoy, Qualitea, Regalo, Shere, Silkenty and Tea of Life. Their website and internet shop doesn’t look much inviting placing an order and the teas would not be great I assume. But they have a wonderful outer wrapping, that’s something.
And I have received a small bag full of tea from my brother colleague. And this one was in. Quite interesting flavour profile intended in my opinion, but it needs a lot to improve.
First of all, I wouldn’t use green tea base. Second… the honey is weird flavour — and not natural. That’s caused by the flavours used instead of real thing. Grapes were quite good. Though, again a flavouring used and not real thing. But that honey was truly weird. It wasn’t sweet, but it has an artifical flavour of honey.
As I said, lots of to improve. Even in tea bags.
