I tried this one at work today and was pleasantly surprised. For a grocery store bagged Earl Grey, this is really good! The black tea base is super smooth and silky (it almost reminds me of an oolong) with absolutely no bitterness or astringency. I typically drink my Earl Grey with milk, but this is one I enjoyed plain. I wish the bergamot flavor had been a little bit stronger, but that’s my only complaint.

I was intrigued but skeptical about this herbal tea. I wasn’t sure chicory root and carob would do the job of a chocolate flavor, but I was pleasantly surprised! The peppermint flavor is strong and sweet, and there is a nice roasty, chocolatey note to balance it. It is not the most chocolatey tea I’ve ever had, but it is perfect for an after dinner tea. I am interested to try it with a little soymilk and sugar, although I think the flavors probably will be best on their own.
Hospital water again, tea bag filched from my sister’s stash of indeterminate age and storage quality. But it vaguely resembles what it might be like to suck on a strawberry leaf.
Again, I’m just grateful for a hot water source and something comforting to twiddle with as we wait for a plan of action.
I hope everything gets better soon.
I have to admit that the hot water in the waiting room at the hospital is greatly appreciated. I had my purse stashed pretty well when I was there a few weeks ago for my Dad. (And their coffee shop served Harney teas!)
Thanks for prayers and kind words. It’s possible I might actually get to the hospital coffee shop tomorrow. A dear friend I haven’t seen in 15 years lives nearby to bring hugs and snack food.
