Grabbed a mug of this while waiting for the preschooler to dress. From the sounds of toys hitting the floor upstairs, I don’t think that is going to happen. But hopefully the mug will fortify me for the trip to the market. This tea was a gift but it’s not for me. Maybe the market will have something to replace it in my shelves.

The package said to use boiled water and steep for 4. As with others in the sampler box, the tea bags have fine ground leaves in them. From past experience with this one, I steeped for 3 minutes at 175. I don’t have much favorable to say about this one. There is a mint aftertaste but also a flavor that reminds me of dust. I’m reminded of chewing on wintermint while hiking in the forest. Sadly not a winner but hopefully my afternoon tea will make up for it!

Pro tip- don’t try to drink tea and cough at the same time

After making a second mug of tea, I got a chance to sit and kick my feet up and sip. The tea bag, like others by this brand, contains leaves that are very very tiny, almost dust. Steeped for about 3 minutes in 175* water. I don’t smell it but I definitely taste the jasmine. The tea is light and smooth, easy to drink. I think this would be good for a spring time or summer tea.

As with most of these Harmony tea bags, the leaf was ground to fine particles. Steeped for 4 minutes as recommended at 170F. I feel like I should have steeped a little longer but this was my first sampling and I tend to follow directions to the letter. It has a nice yellow color with a leafy scent. It is mellow and light, neither good nor bad, but rather basic.

It’s interesting, the directions for steeping on the packet are different in French vs English. The French instructions give a temp 90C (which of course us in the USA struggle with converting) and give a range of 3-5 minutes to steep. The English instructions suggest hot water and 4+ minutes for steeping.

I used water just under boiling and steeped for 4. I will finish this mug but only so I can write it. The rest of the bags are going in my “anyone else but me” pile. I find it tastes like burned rice. I guess it could be called grassy but not in the way I like. It’s rather bitter so perhaps the water was too warm or perhaps 4 min was too long. I have tried this tea before and don’t remember being excited about it then either.

That’s strange!

Agreed! It was just bizarre and so icky! I don’t think it was user error but possibly contributed to the off putting taste
