This was good. So soothing.
For a long time I was not a fan of Keemums at all. Recently though, I dunno, I’ve been actually craving it!
There were some light creamy notes, with a hint of smoke and cigars, but not in the way I find Assams get. No this was sweeter with an almost candied finish. Not bad!!

Something about this tea bothered me and I can’t quite put my finger on it. Something about the mouthfeel.
Reminded me vaguely of a vanilla tea from way back that made me ill once but that isn’t quite it! I’m stumped… though I can certainly see how others would adore it. Managed to finish my cup, and enjoyed it kindof, but had trouble getting to the bottom.
Milk n sugar helped a little, making it more caramel icecream like. Still… Won’t be doing that one again!

I let this steep a tad too long, distracted by conversation. Oh darn…
but overall, rather pleasant if not a little finicky. I love the mango aroma.

My second black tea of the day. Quite good though!
Without any dairy, I found it to be a little bland, but with the addition of just a little milk, it was surprisingly accurate to the taste of white chocolate! Impressive. I’d buy it again.

Very perfume-y in aroma and flavour. Black tea flavour is mild.

ughhhhhhhhh to brain fried to type.
This was my post exam keep-me-awake cuppa. It did a good job for maybe an hour and then faded fast.
As for the tea? it was good. Malty. Rich. Keemum goodness.
Except I was in a big rush (had to be at a picnic in the park!) and didn’t add enough sugar… so with every sip, being as zoned out as I was, this is what flashed into my thoughts: Mmmm this is good. but this is cream, not milk! it’s obscuring the tea flavour. and I should have added a tad more sugar, it could really use a dash more.
Yep… every darn sip! it didn’t help that I’d forgotten to bring distraction materials with me (ie. my post exam brain dump/trashy romance novel)
So I shan’t rate this now, as I need to try it again with fair circumstances.

Backlog! I was craving a pu-erh yesterday so went a little outta my way to swing by Golden Mint, on my way to work from a doc app. I’m glad I did, it was an interesting tea. I can’t say I’m super wowed though. I found this one to be very light. Mild caramel notes, and an even milder bakiness. Like a crisp cracker almost. Personally, I prefer my pu-erhs darker and rich. Nonetheless I could tell that I was drinking a quality cuppa :)

Wow! the first black I’ve seriously enjoyed in a long time! (shhh, don’t tell Assam k?)
Well, that isn’t the whole truth. At first, I wasn’t so sure. The hot cup was a bit too bold for my liking. But then as I got through it, the boldness evened out and the malty stepped up into a caramel like sweet and creamy goodness. I’mpressed!!! -ha, oh dear the grammar cadets will be after me for that one… but I’m stickin with it :P
Hmmm, I think this might be one to purchase, eventually. After I get through the rest of the Golden Mint’s lineup. I’m never around when they are open… so when I am it’s a special treat! Funny though, it’s only $2.25 per cup(almost 30c cheaper than Davids!) and yet most of their blends are $7.50/50g, except their black’s which are $6!! It all seems so backwards to me. Expensive loose, but cheaper by the cup, and cheaper black tea than rooibos?!
Bah, the tea was good… what more do ya need?
