The strawberry in this is really quite faint so it mostly feels as though I am drinking a straight black with maybe some berry flavor. The base itself is okay, though nothing special. However, I did think the tiny capsules this single size serving came in were adorable and super handy. I think that’s what inspired me to pull it from the box.

Made Earl Grey syrup with this and mixed 1 oz of it with 1 oz of lemon juice and 2 oz of gin. Shook it up with ice and filled the rest of my glass with seltzer water. It’s called a Rainmaker cocktail, and I’m enjoying it immensely.

This is my favorite cocktail because it involves tea.

I think the hardest thing in the world is admitting to yourself that you’ve been selfish and hurt someone else. To me, apologizing to the other person is the easy part- it’s the having to live with myself afterward that I have trouble with.

Sorry to get all deep. I had to get that off my chest as I begin figuring out how I can make things right with the person whose feelings I treated like my ego’s doormat.

I did something a little different with this tea. I found a recipe online for a Rainmaker Cocktail using Earl Grey Syrup and Gin:

It’s delicious. Nice and citrusy from both the lemon juice and bergamot from the tea, and the gin gives it the perfect bitey edge.

I’m so glad I found a drink recipe that uses tea!

Uh-oh, this tin is getting super old. The bergamot flavor is almost diminished. I even used a larger scoop of the leaves than the serving size, and I mostly tasted the black tea base. I still got the burnt, chocolatey notes though, so it wasn’t a total wash.

I mean, I got this tin for half-price because it was already three months older than its “Best Before” date, but that was back in December. I need to finish this up, quick. Perhaps a nice pot of iced Earl Grey is in my future?

This tea really is good though. I still enjoy it even when it’s old, so just imagine how delish it probably is when it’s fresh!

Ughhhhh freezing rain! Horrible.

I still maintain that this is the best wake-up tea in my collection. It’s so rich and warming. I’m getting chocolatey notes this morning, too, which complement the bergamot wonderfully.

Here’s to hoping this steaming mug of healthy glory helps chase away the cold!

Oversteeped it today. However, since I got this tin 50% off due to its “best before” date, which was Sept 15th, oversteeping it doesn’t really hurt it any. Maybe it’s a little bitter.

I also added a tsp of organic honey. My housemate insisted that I buy the organic kind, because “It comes from good bees.” It was only $1 more than the non-organic kind, so I was like, OK, fine. But it really is nice stuff. It complements the bergamot well, and it helps with the bit of oversteeping-bitterness I mentioned.

All in all, a very well-rounded and flavorfully balanced cup today.

I can’t emphasize enough how in love with this tea I am.

I hated EG’s when I first started drinking tea regularly, and then I tried a few organic blends and rethought them, but now.

Oh, my God.

This tea is sublime. Rich, full-bodied, thoroughly satisfying. Makes me feel like a classy English person. The bergamot sings. In other blends, it tastes soapy. In this one, it tastes like the orangey heaven that I know it’s supposed to.

Best. Decision. I. Ever. Made. when I bought the tin of this stuff.

I picked up a huge tin of this loose tea in the Gloria Jean’s while out Christmas shopping with the other half. It was 50% off because its “best before” date was Sept. 15th. So it’s not as fresh as it could be.

Still, though. It was the last tin of Earl Grey that they had, and I wanted it. It was dirt cheap for a LOT of tea.

And it’s delicious! Smooth, full-bodied, just the right bite of citrus. I can tell that the tea leaves are of good quality, and they didn’t go overboard with the bergamot, which is KEY for me with EG’s.

I am very happy with this tea!

Really really good loose Earl Grey. The second steep isn’t so good, but the first more than compensates for that.

The smell of a fresh cup of Gloria Jean’s Chai is quite nice—the blend of spices seduce every scent. However the flavor is weak and the tea should only be consumed when other options are unavailable.

I use the K-cup with my Keurig machine. It’s not as strong as others, but makes a nice change once in a while.

I typically don’t buy tea k-cups. Although I own a Keurig machine, I hate the waste k-cups generate, so I mostly buy coffee and use the reusable Keurig filters. And tea, well, I make tea without my Keurig machine. But last time I was at the car dealership, the guy who sold me my car felt badly that it already needed so much expensive maintanance. So he gave me a bunch of tea k-cups as a consolation prize. (I guess he’d seen me tossing back cups of complementary tea.)

Anyway, I am consistently surprised by how much I like Gloria Jean’s k-cup teas. I truly enjoy the chai, and this one is good too! The black tea tastes fresh and not at all overly astringent, and the mango is very bright. Huh, I’d… drink this again. I could even see buying it. Must resist!

The description reads tangy and they aren’t kidding. Even though I found it tart, I enjoyed it once it was sweetened and chilled.

Out running errands and gave this a shot. I won’t do that again. Way too heavy on the “essence of mango” flavor and not even a hint of tea taste. If I had sweetened it up and added ice, we could call it mango kool-aid.

Nice and light!

Not really the nicest English Breakfast tea I’ve had, but certainly not the worst. Their Assam is much nicer, however.
