I was honestly not looking forward to chamomile for breakfast this morning. I would much prefer a hearty black tea to start the day, but this is what I brought so here we are. It’s not so bad really. As chamomile always does, it reminds me of my mom. She drank a lot of this while I was growing up.
Preparation
This is good but not anything too complex or memorable. It certainly has good flavor, but it’s not something I would go out of my way to purchase.
Second Steep
8 ounces water + 200 degrees
I’m steeping this one more time out of curiosity. I’m not sure it will do much, but I thought I would give it a try. So far, after over 8 minutes, the water is barely even turning any sort of color. I’m not even going to drink this one. It’s not going to work for a second steep.
Preparation
The ingredients here list lychee extract as one of the additions which I thought was unique. I’ve never had lychee so I’m not sure how it tastes, but I’m not really tasting anything fruity or out of the ordinary here. It just tastes like a straight black tea. I feel like it might be a different blend than yesterday’s black tea, but I’m not really skilled enough to differentiate between the various types.
Preparation
This tastes much like yesterday’s decaf black tea except I may have sweetened it a bit too much. It’s certainly not bad for a bagged tea to take to work. I’ll have to make a point to compare it to the offerings we have here already.
Preparation
I still have a few bags of Fields & Selects tea that we had leftover from our cruise last month. I wasn’t too happy with the Earl Grey I tried on the ship, but I only had sugar (no honey) and non-dairy creamer to work with. Yuck. Here’s hoping these will be better at home.
The tea smells fresh enough before steeping. There is a nice, light aroma. While steeping, it reminds me of Lipton or something I might use for sweet iced tea. I like Lipton so I may find this to be enjoyable as well. The tea bag is mostly made up of little particles of tea so I won’t try steeping this again. I’m actually pretty impressed, or pleasantly surprised anyway, with the flavor of this tea. It’s not bad at all!
Preparation
This one is very pungent with the smell of bergamot. It’s almost a cleaning solution, citrus-type smell. The taste is the same. It’s much better than I remember before, but it still tastes a lot like soap.
Flavors: Bergamot, Citrus, Soap
