For some reason, while this cup starts out very delicious, I always have a bit of trouble in wanting to finish the last of it, because of how much spice flavor it has. I like spice, but sometimes it seems too much in this tea, and it reminds me a bit of the Good Earth spiced tea, which I do not enjoy.
The “candied glitter and gold” is sugar, which also makes this tea very interesting for me, since I typically do not sweeten my tea.
I love a good oolong blend, so of course I had to ask for some of this in my swap with T.C! Plus the name is just so delightful—I occasionally buy teas based on the name alone and if I saw this in a shop there would be no way I could resist. Slightly off topic but I am the same way with music, if I see a band or album with a intriguing name I buy it! That’s how I have found a lot of my favorites though, like Doves or Iron & Wine.
This tea is peachy! I was expecting a more tropical taste and I am getting something vaguely tropical but not the standard pineapple or coconut. Maybe guava or papaya? Hmm, quite possibly papaya. And, of course, peach! The flavoring is rather soft, letting the green oolong shine. There’s also a nice floral taste, not just from the oolong but from the amaranth petals as well. Very nice!
This is another awesome sample I got in a swap with T.C. (thanks again!)
I would definitely reach for this oolong again if I was in the mood for something VERY fruity! Tutti Fruity comes to mind. Or Hawaiian Punch maybe?
Another impulse buy from my trip to AZ.
I wanted to try a honeybush and this one smelled good in the store.
It smells and tastes like (wait for it….) Apricots!
Easy to drink and enjoy, it’s my first foray into the realm of honeybush and I wasn’t disappointed. No need for any additives, it’s good all by itself.
Preparation
Brought this guy back from a tea shop I visited in Phoenix. Oolongs(and blends) are hit or miss for me.
The smell is addictive. I want to say CANDY! …though it must be some of the flower petals….but it smells like candy.
The taste is really good!!! I love it best hot (as apposed to cooling some). This is definitely on the “hit” list.
