I like it. The vanilla comes across a bit strong and drowns out the rooibos a little, but the key word there is ‘little’, with some other vanilla rooibos tisanes I might as well have drunk vanilla extract and had done with it. It definitely one for when I fancy something sweet, and I’d definitely reach for it over the spendy teapigs rooibos blends.
Preparation
When Mom first brought this tea home, I thought “these flavour combinations can’t work.” Then I tried a mug, with a drizzle of honey. Oh, it works. (“It’s twue!”) It hasd a great smell, a lively colour and goes well with food or just by itself. A nice tea to drink while reading.
Preparation
So this smells like raspberry. I steeped this up a short time. This tasted like raspberry but with a tartness. I liked the raspberry part but the tartness perhaps the hibiscus that seems to be in alot of fruit blends made this score lower. I did enjoy the raspberry though.
Just a personal preference, but adding hibiscus to a tea is like improving chocolate by adding gravel. I prefer my hibiscus in the garden and not in my cup.
This is one of my Mom’s fave teas. When I first tried it with real honey as a sweetener, I thought it had a strange artificial-sweetener-like aftertaste. But a couple of nights ago I had it with brown sugar and steeped in a larger-than-usual type mug. Wow. What a difference! Much nicer than CS’s regular chamomile.
Preparation
backlogging and giving nearly a whole box to a friend…
Not really a fan of the scent of this as everything about smells fake and phony. I’m steeping now…let’s see what this is all about!? Never tried it before but thought I would pick up while ransacking the local herb store for a bunch of boxes of candy cane lane! LOL
OH WOW! I’m not sure about this! It’s nutty, and vanilla, and cinnamon…but they aren’t playing nice – at least not with me. The Cinnamon is more powerful than the other flavors. It’s not sweet at all…
I will finish the cup but I will not buy again…don’t think it’s for me.
Bright side…at least I am not dumping it down the drain…
Near the end of this cup it’s not as bad…maybe it’s growing on me!? Or just numbing me…not sure…I may revisit down the road…but it will be a while…
I can totally imagine vanilla, cinnamon, and nutty going wrong…but then again, I hate vanilla and I dislike everyone’s beloved Hot Cinnamon Spice ;)
This is an herbal tea with lemon. Since I am still suffering the cough/sore throat affliction I figured lemon tea might help. I brought the sample (3 bags) to work to share a pot with a co-worker. We brewed two bags hot with no sweetener in a larger (32 ounces I believe) pot at work. The first cup I had after it steeped for about five minutes. This was a dark amber honey color. The lemon flavor was mild, but enjoyable. I had the second cup after about 20 minutes. The color was now a deeper amber almost red color. The lemon flavor was much more powerful and had a slight bitter aftertaste.
The two cups did seem to help my throat, but again that could have been the fact that it was warm soothing liquid. Overall a tasty tea, but I would probably enjoy it more in the summer months when I feel better and just want to relax with some tea.
Preparation
I am going to use up the rest of this (about 10-12 bags) to try to make Thai Iced Tea for a potluck tonight, using this recipe as a guide: http://www.arborteas.com/teablog/tea-preparation/how-to-make-thai-tea-aka-thai-iced-tea-a-thai-tea-recipe-from-arbor-teas/
Will report on the results. Wish me luck!
Preparation
Thanks! I only had 10 teabags after all, and it needs to be a strong brew in 6c water, so I add 1tsp each of Whittard Chai, and Adagio Cream+vanilla bean. I brewed it all for about 6 min then added the sugar and sweetened condensed milk. Color looks good, now it’s cooling. We’ll see how it tastes over ice w/ a splash of evaporated milk later tonight!
Everyone who tried it liked it, but I still took a lot home. Looks like I’ll be drinking iced chai lattes all weekend.
I bought this tea intending to try it out for Thai Iced tea as well, since it already has the star anise and cardamom in it, but I haven’t gotten around to it yet – was hoping to be able to get away with just adding sweetened condensed milk and sugar to it. Problem is we don’t keep anything other than skim milk at home, so that’s put a stopper in my attempts a few times.
No idea what it is about this tea, but my husband calls it Nightmare Tea as he always has dreams that freak him out when he drinks this before bed. As for me, it’s a decent herbal tea, but not really my thing. This is more floral than I care for. I tend towards spicy or fruity blends.
I like this one a lot too!
