Another from Holiday Inn Express, this one in my room. Packed in a paper envelope, it’s a blend of black tea fannings from Northeastern India (probably Assam) and Kenya.

At first the aroma is malty-woody, but as it cools a bit, it turns cranberry and some kind of muted red berry floral. The taste is robust, strong, and brisk. It’s definitely got a classic “black tea” backbone but with strong wood notes, red cherry and cranberry tang, malt, some bread dough in the background; also a papery taste from the teabag. Surprisingly, it finishes with a cooling effect in the mouth, less so in the body. Great tea plain to standup to a hearty breakfast and would probably make a bold iced tea.

Whew, I don’t think I’ll forget the punch from this one.

Did you have a heating source other than the nasty room coffeemaker? If not, your ability to pull any flavor out of it is significant!

derk

Flew it back home and prepared with tap water from the kettle :)

gmathis

Well, that solves the problem!

Someone randomly left a box of this in the kitchen at work. In a pinch I used it because a) I’m fasting for breakfast and b) I didn’t bring my Jasmine Dragon Pearls from home.

It’s better than the Higgins & Burke bagged green tea that my office stocks. Doesn’t taste as earthy, which I like.

I needed a green tea pick me up towards the end of my day. I was only able to find this green tea in my tea cabinet. That cabinet is overstuffed and chaotic. I know I have some better green teas in there, it just needs some major reorganization. j don’t think this is a bad tea… It’s just not great.

There aren’t many decaffeinated teas in my cupboard that I can drink after 5pm, so this is the go to tea at nighttime. I like it enough to find and repurchase it.

I think this tea was brought by elves — found a 24-pack on top of my microwave and neither my husband nor I purchased it, but can’t remember for the life of us how it made it into the house.

A fair bagged green, not very strong, stereotypical middle-of-the-road vegetable garden taste to it.

ashmanra

That is too funny! I wish the tea elves would come see me, but I want to give them a list of what to bring.

Cofftea

Tea fairy!

gmathis

I don’t mind that they bring me tea, but I sure wish they’d clean my kitchen while they are at it…

LOL touche gmathis. Touche.

A review of Premium Blended Black Tea by Bromley
I had a full box of this tea purchased some time ago from Market Basket and I am finally at end of tea. I mention this since I never thought that I would drink this tea let alone to have gone through the box. I always remember when first I had this tea it was blend/blah in fact.

Since my tea journey I have come to know what to look for in a good cup of tea. Tea color, tea’s aroma and over all taste goes into making for a fine cup of tea or not.

I took this last tea bag and having brought cold water to full boiled, I pour some of the water over the tea bag into my cup and left it to steep for a few minutes. I removed the tea bag after the set time and take in the color of the tea; it is a lovely dark reddish brown, and with the light directly above it, it is even brighter. Tea’s aroma is strong and robust. Tasting the tea while it is mildly hot, brings about the roasted flavoring a bit more. The tea is malt in taste and overall this tea is rich and smooth when swallowed with a strong finish.

Another entry while I relax tonight and watch QI (I love Stephen Fry). Only one bag of this tea but the entry below mine seemed non too impressed so curious to see the result.

I do like fresh tasting green tea and usually brew loose leaf instead of bagged, as this tea is bagged I already have a feeling about how I shall rate this. I am however, trying not to let it cloud my judgement.

Colour: Dark amber liquidy goodness.
Smell: Extremely mild fragrance, does smell like green tea but not strongly.

Taste: Extremely airy and light, very hard to detect much flavour or taste. Not as stale as various other bagged green tea’s that I have had before BUT it is not as fresh as my usual loose leaf. Still drinkable…. just very subtle with everything.

On par with my premonitions in honesty so I am not blown away by this tea at all. Average at best and if I get given any more of this tea I shall make a mental note to brew it for longer.

It’s still relaxing though :)

I had some Bromley peach tea, that wasn’t stellar by any means, but it was decent for iced tea.

KittyLovesTea

I think flavour of some sort would be much better for this brand. I felt at times as if I was just drinking hot water. Well when I say much better I mean a slightly improved rating to somewhere around 55 instead of the meagre 38 that it got.

Angrboda

QI is awesome. I’ve developed a weakness for Alan Davies. :)

KittyLovesTea

Alan Davies does have his charms :) Plus he is amazingly funny.

Debi

Yes! QI! Alan Davies and Stephen Fry are the bomb. :)

This tea was delicious for a bagged tea! I tried a sample out of curiosity from a gas station by purchasing a bag and making it at home. It seemed like it might hit the spot and I was in the mood for some experimentation.

The black tea is dark and rich, especially for a bagged tea. I am not a fruit tea fan but it is a mild taste of fruit present behind the other glorious flavorings of the tea.

Strong but not overbearing, punching with flavor, and quite refreshing, I went to the local Walmart to try and buy myself a box. Sadly they did not sell it. The hunt continues.

It is a day for a cup of hot tea; after bringing fresh water to boil, then pour over tea bag and let brew for about 3 minutes. Wanted it to be mildly strong since drinking it with no sugar, lemon or milk as suggested for desired cup of tea.

It is smoky in flavor and a full bodied drink.

This is an every day kind of tea and economically sound; less than a penny to a cup, although I cannot do the math.

ms.aineecbeland

Really nothing exciting about this tea; when one opens the box, all the tea bags are individually wrapped in a red with blue border paper wrapping and the box smells nice enough; smoky in fact. Other wise it stops there. Blahhhhhhhhh, sorry. I will not be buying Bromley again, I don’t think.

ms.aineecbeland

Stored this one away; back to my Orange Pekoe daily brew and store brand Green tea. Sorry Bromley is not for me it seems, although their websites have great recipes.

I got this bagged tea for a good price about $1.99 for 24 bags.. this is not good tea by any stretch. It is just Ok, not good, not bad, OK. The smell as it was steeping is of cheap tea.. Good tea smells like autumn and good earth smells.
This has a bit of tea and a lot of dirt and cardboard. i steeped it for 3min. the liquor is as dark as coffee.. the flavor is on the week side its a Ok mix of black teas but once again it just OK.

It used to be my go-to tea before I got addicted to more traditional teas. Now I’m not that impressed, but I still drink it once in a while.

I think it will make for a fine iced tea for traveling around when on errands etc. I purchased this on a whim since I had not seen the brand before; I recently completed my daily iced brew of Orange Pekoe and am now trying Bromley Estate Tea. I am hopping it is not fancy wording with new marketing package as opposed to a good cup of tea.

I am not a connoisseur however, just expressing what I like.
