Thank you TeaEqualsBliss for sending me some of this blend!
It only seems I should review it considering it is a SororiTea Sister blend even if pre-conception of me lol.
I am not sure how old this tea is – I see the first tasting note on it was 2 years ago.
If in fact this tea is that old it has held up very well which is a testament to Blends for Friends – and of course the way TeaEqualsBliss has stored it :)
Regardless – a nice mixture of chocolate, orange, some lovely floral notes, and bergamot.
Each note comes out well on its own yet them melds into a fine blend together.
I will have to try this tea a few times to fully get into it but will do a review in the future on SororiTea Sisters site.
Finished off the last that I had of this blend … and it will be missed. I will no doubt need to do a re-order of this one at some point.
Here is my full-length review of this one: http://sororiteasisters.com/2011/10/02/sororitea-sisters-special-blend-from-blends-for-friends/
I started my day with this tea today. Very nice, as always. Today, the flavors are a bit more assimilated, I taste hints of rose and chocolate and bergamot, melded together into a unified flavor rather than specific notes. I love that this tea is different every time I sip it.
I am starting my day and my New Year with this blend. The cup started with a strong cocoa note – like powdered cocoa – and now I taste more rose notes. Rose and chocolate. Very little of the bergamot notes today … although that could change as the tea cools a bit. A very enjoyable cup either way.
Revisiting this blend today. Today, I taste a pretty well-blended combination of rose, bergamot and chocolate. I really love how this is a different cup each time I brew it. Definitely a winning blend! Love it!
Starting my tea drinking today with a cuppa Special Blend! Today, the chocolate is much more mellow than in previous tastings, the rose and chocolate are a little softer in flavor (but definitely still there), but I’m tasting more bergamot. Not as much bergamot as you might experience from a typical Earl Grey, but, more than I’ve tasted in this blend previously. More than a chocolate-y note, what I taste is the creamy notes of the chocolate. It’s all very delicious. I do love this blend.
Having another cup today. Today it is more chocolate than rose or bergamot, but the bergamot is peeking through a bit more than the rose today. Yup… a different cup every time I brew it. I like that I never know quite what to expect from it, it makes it kind of exciting and pretty much what I’m about as a tea drinker.
Blends for Friends NAILED it with this blend.
Enjoying another cup of this today. It’s a little different today than it was yesterday. The chocolate is still strong, but the rose is just as strong. It is almost like the two are competing, but not in a bad way. It’s a bit like rose-infused chocolate. YUM!
The bergamot is very soft today, perhaps even softer than it was yesterday, but that’s alright. While I do love bergamot, and appreciate a good, strong cup of Earl, I also like the way the bergamot is represented in this cup. It is soft and beautiful.
I could easily sip on this every day!
My first tasting of this very special blend created just for us (aka the SororiTea Sisters!)
A lot of chocolate taste here! That’s the first thing I noticed. The orange and rose are background notes here, but they are a very pleasant taste combination with the chocolate. The black tea tastes rich and that richness is further enhanced by the strong presence of the chocolate. Rich, creamy and decadent. YUM!
LOVE this! Thank you to TeaEqualsBliss for sending it my way… I’ve been anxious to try it! I’m thrilled with it!
Oh, I like the sound of this blend so much! And you two really seem to have enjoyed it! Is there any chance you would be willing to part with the code on it, so I could place an order for myself?
Hi There! I have the original tin that this blend came in. I do not see a reference code on the label, but the exact name of the blend is: SororiTEA Sisters’ Special Blend. I think you can enter this name into the field on the reorder form and they should be able to recreate it for you. Here is a direct link to the page where you can reorder a blend: http://www.blendsforfriends.com/bpages/reorderchoice.html
This is my 6,000th Tasting Note!!!
To celebrate the BIG 6-0-0-0 I decided to have a small cup of this and pass the rest on to our new Sororitea Sister Azzrian
I will miss this one because it’s really awesome but I’m happy Azz will have the chance to try it, too! Glad I saved it for a while :)

Thank you all for reading! And helping me celebrate my 5,500th Tasting Note on Steepster!
Yay! Congrats to my SororiTea Sis! Here’s to another 5500! (I’m still working toward 3000 … I’m a little slow…)
Since LiberTEAs has been reviewing this a few times I thought I would dig thru my shelves, containers, piles, and storage mounds of tea and and have a cuppa! Still LOVE this – will always LOVE this!
Today I can smell the rose and chocolate but can taste the pure orange. Towards the end of the sip I can taste a dark chocolate flavor that lingers. It’s VERY special!
Upping the rating again :)
Thought I would have a lil bit of this on my Birthday Today!!!
I didn’t get any rose petals – that was by design – I wanted to see just how much the rose contributed to the overall flavor. It is noticeable! I like it with and without the rose! I like the fact that this is such a diverse cuppa!
Without the rose I could taste the smooth chocolate more and the citrusy-goodness on a different level! YUM!
Hope you Had a Happy Day, Sounds Like a Good Cup for your Special Day.
Mine is Next Tuesday and I Still Have not Decided On the Cup Yet.
But Lord Willing I will Have Another Year to Enjoy His Tea Creations
Keep On Steepin
