drank Pomegranate by Birt & Tang

Finished… but!

Old tea bag from huge bags…
But this one must be bad even fresh. It was dirty in taste, very drying, rather based on herbals than on actual fruit.

No notes of pomergranate, nor lemon, nor lemongrass, just nothing from those! It was green tea? No notes of tea as well.

I don’t know how it tasted! It was like drinking hot water with infused dirt from old country road.

This tea didn’t wanted to brew at all. I used boiling water, typical volume of water (300 ml) and… it just did not changed the colour at all.

So, I was moving with it, even squeezed in the end and… it has got light brown, yet clear colour.

Taste is way too similar. There are little bit of blueberry, rather as aftertaste. No body, no base oolong notieable. Weird tea. I don’t know if it is becasue of age (huge bags section), or just… meh?

One of the first things that’s noticeable, with this particular jasmine tea, is that the green tea is actually detectable. With some jasmine tea the actual tea can be hard to find and totally dominated by the overpoweringly powdery note of jasmine. Birt & Tang provide the perfect combo, being strong, but simultaneously subtle, in comparison to other jasmine tea.

Final Thoughts: Not the best quality leaves, but cheap, certified organic and actually tastes good. It’s gentle, making it a great starter jasmine tea for those who are unsure.

All gone. I quite like this and it’s an easy teabag, so I might get it again. The only stange thing is that the teabags have very small pores so it doesn’t even let the air in or out until you squeeze it. The bag floats and you wonder whether it’s meant to brew like that

I’m still drinking this from time to time. Today because I wanted a lazy teabag and some oolong to take away the sweetness of a couple of pints of coke I had earlier. I can really taste the raspberry tonight, but that’s unusual, normally I can’t even tell it’s there

My Birt & Tang order has come through so I can try several of their blends. This one tastes and smells like cannabis (apparently). You can’t taste the raspberry unless you really look for it, but I quite like that. You’re meant to brew it for 5 mins but I might try less next time

The pack is gone! Again. I get through this stuff far too quickly. Well it’s not only me, I have Twinings Earl Grey too. It’s quite good stuff anyway, keeps me going on a long day

Onto the next packet. I like this, but I am keen to try some other ones soon to see whether they are as good

I don’t think I have explained… the ingredients in this are Ginger, Pu-erh tea, cloves, chinese date and apple. And it’s still good. I will drink this every day at work now until the packet is gone.

My colleague loves this tea, and I’m still impressed with it. Must explore the other teas Birt and Tang sell

The Pu-erh in this is subtle but makes it a little more than just a herbal blend. Needs brewing for 5-7 minutes.

drank Raspberry Leaf by Birt & Tang
2201 tasting notes

So I realized a little too late in the game that I was out of the raspberry tea from Monterey Bay Spice Company, which included raspberry leaf in the blend. I would drink it about once a month for some woman-specific symptoms, if you get my drift, and I needed some right away and couldn’t wait on an order. I thought about checking out Whole Foods, but then I was at a Home Goods store (sort of a reseller of all kinds of homewares, including some foods like jams, cookies, and teas) and happened across a box of this tea. Score!

This actually isn’t pure raspberry leaf, it also apparently includes raspberry fruit as well, though I’m not sure in what form. They are tea bags, but that is fine for an herbal tea. An extended steep yielded a yellowy, herby-smelling tea, and I rather pleasant flavor. It’s quite sweet, a bit fruity, and a bit herby. I wouldn’t say “yes, very raspberry!” to the flavor, but it’s certainly tasty enough. Very pleased with my find.

raspberry leaf certainly does the trick when you need it! my dependency on tylenol has gone down :)

gmathis

Can you tell if the raspberry does anything for the pre- and post- symptoms, not just those requiring pain relief?

Indigobloom

I feel that it does, moreso if I eat and exercise right, otherwise it’s more pain relief than anything.
Could be cumulative though, I’ve heard it helps if you drink it a few days beforehand as well.

Dinosara

I haven’t tried to drink it in other circumstances besides pain relief, but I will definitely try it out. Every little thing helps!

Indigobloom

I agree!! anything to lessen the torture!:)

really nice, warming taste – and, for once, with herbal/tea mixes, you can still taste the pu-erh too <3

Sometimes you get lucky when you buy something because you stumble upon it, withouth ever having tried it before. Such is the case with this Gojiberry tea.

First off, sorry I don’t have a better picture to post. But I had to make sure you saw the box….so you’ll be able to run out & buy it…

I stumbled upon this box in Home Goods. They often sell gourmet foods at really reasonable prices. I don’t remember exactly what I paid for this tea, but I would gladly pay double for another box!

The flavor is a mix of tart & sweet. And the smell is delightful. Definitely a light herbal, with a lot of great flavor.

The box I bought has 50 teabags in it & I believe I bought this in October….I have two teabags left! I’m running back to Home Goods to pray they have more. If not, I’m going to have to search the web to find this tea.

I only sweeten this with local honey. Overall, it makes for a great cuppa tea!
Enjoy!

drank Osmanthus by Birt & Tang

It’s all gone, thank goodness. I’ve had it at work and had lots of comments about how it’s not very manly. They are right, but it wouldn’t bother me if the tea was worth it. After all, I eat lots of houmous at work and have loads of comments about that, but I still eat it because it’s delicious and morally good (I’m a bit of an environmentalist but not actually a vegan). I had it in work simply because it was in a teabag and therefore easy to make at work, but I think I’ll find something better.

I’ve actually just had an e-mail from Birt & Tang but I won’t be getting this again. If I have anything, it’ll be their Ginger one, which is quite nice

TeaEqualsBliss

Who cares if it’s manly or not…if you like something like it! That’s what I say!!! :P Stereotypical/gender stuff annoys me LOL :) CHEERS!

I’m only having this because I have teabags left over that need finishing [10 left after this one :-( ] and I won’t buy any more tea until I have finished up some of the tea in my cupboard. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, flowers seem to add nothing to a tea (other than colour to the leaves). I’m not saying they don’t taste of anything because they do, but I don’t like it, whatever it is

Having had this I am starting to think that tea with flowers or petals is not my thing. It adds a weak, slightly sweet flavour that is hard to place. It’s very drinkable but unless I enjoy future cups I probably won’t buy it again
