Ninth day of my advent calendar from Sara!
This smelled delightfully of hibiscus while brewing. That’s the main flavor too. There’s also a bit of a mild white tea flavor. If you love hibiscus, I think you’ll love this tea. If you hate hibiscus, please look elsewhere.
It’s also excellent iced!

Preparation
This is the first new tea I tried this year, a holiday seasonal I picked up as a sampler from Beleave Teas, which I decided to do a sipdown of recently since the little sugar snowflakes seemed appropriate for the snowy winter weather we’ve been having recently.
The scent of the leaves was very orangey and sweet, with just a bit of spiciness tickling the nose. I shook up the ingredients and went a bit heavy on the leaf, using two teaspoons and making sure to get a good mix of tea leaf and larger, bulky ingredients, and steeped for two minutes, and the resulting tea was a bright yellow-orange, reminding me of orange juice! The tea had a very silky smooth mouthfeel and citrus orange flavor, with a bit of warm cinnamon spice in the finish, reminding me of an orange spice tea, only with a lighter, softer body than the black tea orange spice teas I’m used to. It also had a nice, creamy sweetness with just a hint of vanilla that rounds out the citrus and spice notes from being too overpowering. This was an enjoyable tea, like a warm orange cider with some nice sweet notes.

Preparation
You are sitting on a patio. A small stream bubbles to your left as it races to meet a bigger river. Every time I take a sip I picture this scene in Missoula, MT. This tea is very similar to Evening in Missoula or Sunset In Seattle. Tranquil is the best way to describe it regardless of what the name is. The unique blend of ingredients makes it instantly recognizable to anyone who drinks it enough. It’s the perfect drink to calm yourself before bed or good for a cuppa on a stressful work day.

I’m currently drinking a coconut Assam tea. I like linguistics, politics, and you (more than Whitney). I also like coconut and coconut teas. I may have to explore this tea. And by explore, I mean Christopher Columbus the shit out of it. Whereas you are Amerigo Vespucci discovering this tea and perhaps the company is/are the Native Americans having always had this tea because it is theirs and I come along and I’ll try it and declare my discovery to all the (Steepster) world despite you having already been there done that. I’m not sure if this analogy all lines up but there you have it.
Short version: I want to try this.
This analogy is very funny, and I’ll TRY to remember to bring some into work to throw in your ever-expanding box of yummies.

Here’s Hoping Traveling Teabox – Round #5 – Tea #36
Another minty chocolate blend, but it’s a good one. The mint is very strong here! (I’d definitely go for this one when I have headaches.) Chocolate notes in the background. The chocolate should have been stronger with all this mint. Both steeps were delicious.
The smell of the leaf was definitely peachy. As I was smelling the dry leaf I kept thinking – and I mean this as a compliment – that it reminded me of the smell of peach Jolly Ranchers. I don’t mean that the tea smelled like anything fake or candy-like, because I think peach Jolly Ranchers smell delicious. Both they and this tea were smack you in the face peachy, and that’s a great thing. It’s the kind of scent that makes me want to sit there and smell the leaf for a while, but I made myself make the tea. First world problems!

I actually don’t taste hibiscus at all in this one. It’s really floral, but I get a really sweet floral taste, and lychee fruit… and, oddly enough, bubblegum. But I don’t get that tart fruity hibiscus flavor at all, which always confused me about the name. I have my review over under the wholesaler, here: https://steepster.com/mastressalita/posts/370920
