This is really nice – I loved watching this tea unfurl. I had a very busy day today, and it was nice to take a few moments to just breathe and watch as the tea infused and the bulb opened up to reveal its beautiful display.
The tea tastes good too. Jasmine (which I adore) and hints of lily. The tea tastes creamy and sweet, with notes of hay and fresh spring air. A really nice tea, and a nice way to relax after a busy day!
I don’t drink blooming teas very often, mostly because I don’t want to take the time to sit back, relax and watch the tea bulb unfurl. But, today, I wanted to sit back and do just that.
This is a beautiful blooming tea that tastes as good as it looks. My glass teacup wasn’t quite tall enough to view the full extension of the tall white blossoms but, I still enjoyed what I saw. And the flavor more than makes up for the inability to experience the full height of the bloom, because this is one of the better tasting blooming teas I’ve had. The white tea is the first thing I notice – soft and even a little creamy. I taste the jasmine along with the lily, and I like the taste that the combination of these two flowers create.
Very lovely.
I decided to let this steep until the bulb had finished blossoming. Usually, I just steep it for about 3 or 4 minutes, even if it’s not finished opening, and then resteep it until it has fully bloomed. But, this time, I wanted to find out what it would taste like after steeping as long as it took for the bulb to completely open.
And it doesn’t taste bad at all. In fact, it’s really quite lovely – not just to look at but to drink as well. The flavor is lightly vegetative with sweet honey tones. The honey-esque notes are accented by the pollen-y taste that is in the tea. Overall, a very pleasant tea to sip.
After 4 minutes of steeping this one, the bulb had not completely opened yet – I can just see the very tip of the bloom that will present itself with the next infusion.
This is REALLY good. One of the best blooming teas I’ve tasted in a long time (of course, I can’t really remember when the last time was that I’ve had a blooming tea… unless you count the red peony rosette from Teany that I had this morning… but I don’t consider it to be a “blooming tea” because it doesn’t really bloom). It really does taste like pumpkin and spice! Delicious!
I steeped this a total of 3 times so that the bloom could completely unfurl. It’s beautiful! It looks like two swans dancing! The flavor was delightful for all three infusions too. Pumpkin spice for the first two, and the third had hints of pumpkin spice with a fresh, buttery creaminess at the end. Nice!
I was skeptical…was this one REALLY going to taste like pumpkin?
Guess what…it DOES taste like pumpkin…maybe more of a butternut squash with yummy spice notes underneath! Okay…as it cools at room temperature it does taste more like pumpkin…not really pumpkin pie, but pumpkin. It’s almost like a flavored silver needle! Very nice – very surprising! Slightly peppery in the middle of the sip but finishing somewhat soothing and flatter.
