This was purchased to be a morning tea for the husband, but I thought I’d give it a try since it says it is 100% Ceylon. Ceylon is one tea that I’m still rather unclear on so further exposure is a good thing.

The smell is kind of cardboard nutty with a hint of tartness. Further sniffing makes me think of almonds, or maybe marzipan since there is some sweetness. The sticky tart note seems to fade in the smell as the tea cools.

The taste is faintly marzipan so I’m gonna call this almond and honey tasting. It’s surprisingly smooth with just a little tackiness at the end of the sip. The flavor isn’t strong by any means (“delicate” was what the husband called it) and with just the light almond and faint honey notes, there’s not exactly got a lot going on here but it’s nicer than I expected.

Okay, okay. I wasn’t expecting much from this so surpassing my expectations isn’t that great. But really, this is actually quite pleasant. I mean, not knock-it-out-of-the-ballpark, but quite unhorrible. I may have to try some of the other Adam brand teas I’ve picked up for the husband.

Good tasting ceylon tea. The earl grey flavor is nearly non existent in this one, but it still makes a very nice cup of tea :)

Okay for a Ceylon black bag, much better than Lipton or Tetley (which doesn’t say much), but not nearly as flavorful as the Twinings Ceylon. It is also more astringent and drying (higher tannin content?). I steeped this for less time than I did the Adam peach tea, which had a bitter aftertaste because I steeped it too long. Even at 2 minutes, 45 seconds it still has a bitter aftertaste. I will probably only drink this if I am out of other Ceylon teas.

I cold brewed this tea and let it steep overnight, then reheated. The bitterness is reduced a great deal, but the peach is pleasantly strong. Much better.

Nice peach flavor, which goes better with ceylon black tea than with Stash’s oolong tea. The natural fruitiness of the ceylon is a nice match with the peach flavoring, though the ceylon tea they used is more bitter and of lower quality than Twinings ceylon. The black tea also adds body and depth which the oolong that Stash uses lacks. The tea has a bitter astringent edge that does not disappear with the addition of sweetener. Adding cream and sugar made it taste like peaches and cream, but the lingering bitterness spoils it.
