Yet again drinking the bagged version of an Adagio tea, although I have taken the leaves out and put them in my glass pot. I used 1 bags worth of leaves, 160ml water, 80 degrees C, 1.5 mins. I’m starting to like this tea the more times I brew it, it’s certainly not the highest grade of Long Jing, and perhaps a tiny bit over-fired, but still some very plesant roasty, citursy notes.
Another tin gone! Woohoo! I’ll be getting a bunch of samples in swaps this week (thanks, everyone!), but I haven’t made a tea purchase since mid-December, which is a big deal for me. This is a nice, soothing tea for Sunday night.
This is a sweet, yummy white tea with very little grassiness. I’m not really feeling the comparisons to Silver Needle; Silver Needle to me has a much more buttery, round taste, and is a lot smoother. Still, I like this, though I’m not huge on white tea (except for SN, of course).
This is leftover from Saturday, I think. Steeps 3 and 4 iced. I usually try to drink stuff the day after I brew it when iced, so this one is a bit older. Oh well. If I die in the next hour, we’ll know why.
This tea has no sugar but it tastes like sweet tea. Not like southern sweet tea – it isn’t that sweet – but what non-southerns make their sweet tea taste like. Then there is there slightest smoky taste on the tail. It’s really good. Makes me even sadder that this tea is gone.
ETA – As it warms up, the smoky tastes becomes stronger though the tea still tastes sweet and smooth.
I needed to either take a nap or have tea. I selected tea. I normally have Keemun at work which is where I keep my tin of Rishi so I was really expecting the same taste when I took my first sip. But then I remembered why I love this one so much. Smooth, flavorful, so yummy. Just perfect.
Hmmm, I’m almost out of this. Seems I drink it a lot
Needed a good ole flavored tea I could trust today. Nothing that I had to think too hard to enjoy since I am lacking brain activity today. I have decided in my next life I will not work with young human creatures for the sole reason that they seem to carry nasty germs around. And I always catch them. (As a side note, I do love my middle schoolers. I really do.)
So to comfort my poor immune system, I am consuming a large amount of strawberry tea and peanut butter cookies. The two of them actually compliment each other very well.
Preparation
A big mug of this to start my Monday morning. I’m not too keen on black teas but I can tolerate this one because of the strawberry flavoring. Now that I think of it, most of the black teas I do drink have some flavor to them. I taste the strawberry more in the aftertaste which is fine. I let it steep for 5 minutes when I normally do 4, so it is slightly stronger than I like.
