I brewed this today but there were too many cardamom’s in my mix and it was overwhelming. Milk and sugar couldn’t save it so I’ll have to try again later. :|

Another day, another darjeeling. :P

I thought I had had this before, but I guess I didn’t rate it. It’s a lot nicer than I remember it being. The first few sips are remarkable smooth and lightly fruity. It’s rather pleasant yet a bit mild. I was distracted when I made it and I think I understeeped it! I’m also WAY too sleepy to try and describe the complexity in this flavour properly.

Whoops!

Anyways, I’ll pass the rest on to CrowKettle, but next time Zen Tea does a sale, I think I’ll try more. I like it almost as much as David’s Darjeeling, and more than David’s Second Flush.

Update: I resteeped it and lost track of the time again. :| But it’s very malty with subtle coca notes I think. Very enjoyable! And I bought my 20g pack for 50% off! I’m so happy I tried it!

I’m drinking so much tea today but I just can’t shake that sleepy feeling. Wakeupwakeupwakeup…

I want to learn Spanish on duolino, and I want to read Anna Karenina so I can finish it for the 25th, and I want to play guildwars2, and I’d like to play Gravity Rush on the Vita. I also want to sort all my tea, but I’m out of mini ziplocks. Watching Sherlock or Doctor Who would also be grand.

This is a nice tea, and I feel I’ve worked my way up to it by drinking ‘regular’ teas first.

Today is a day where chocolate in tea is pretty awesome. I taste the cocoa and coconut first, and then it glides into sweet Star Anise.

I wish every day was a good day for chocolate in tea.

I drank two more cups of the White Peony sample and that’s the end of that. Man! White tea is expensive but it’s so good. I wonder if DT is having a hard time selling their straight blends (because they had that $1 promo to entice us, and it seems like they have a lot to get rid of at 50 cents).

Time for smoky tea to mix things up. I’m so sleepy though so the smoke is going to my head and making me feel a bit dizzy. I wonder if a vanilla tea would be awesome with this. Maybe another day I’ll try it.

Finally! I finally tried a ‘plain’ white tea. It was only .50 so I snagged it.

It reminds me a little of a very light green or oolong tea. I really like it. It’s slightly sweet, grassy and very lovely.

Now when I drink Cookie Dough, I’ll recognize the base.

Time to resteep!

drank The Earl's Garden by DAVIDsTEA

Well, this won’t replace Adagio’s TARDIS or Shanti Teas’ Raspberry Earl Grey. I want that fancy fruity mouthfeel those other teas gave me.

Right now I’m getting fruit and earl grey and a bit of vanilla but so much bergamot! So much! So, I’ll just rate this later.

Ozli

I’m gonna send you some Murchie’s raspberry black as well, and you can see how that compares, too!

Awesome! Thx.

drank David's Darjeeling by DAVIDsTEA

Ok I had to have this today just to MAKE SURE that this isn’t the same tea as DavidsTea Second Flush Darjeeling. And it’s not. It’s much lighter and doesn’t taste so much of dank woods and mushrooms.

I think I prefer this one more. Too bad you can’t buy it anymore. Unless they renamed it as the Himalayan blend? I tweeted them to ask – will see if I get an answer! Haha

I probably should have just asked when I was in store earlier today but they were so busy that when it was my turn I just wanted to get my stuff and go. BUT I DID GET 100g COCOMINT CREAM! (Also 30g of Decaf Earl Grey for late nights, and 30g of the Earls Garden so I can compare it to Adagio’s Tardis/Shati’s Raspberry Earl Grey.)

Update: I just found out from DavidsTea twitter account that this is now called Himalayan Blend. So. Mystery Solved. Will update my cupboard etc.

Kittenna

A-ha! I knew there was some renaming involved, I just got confused as to what :D

TeaLady441

Yeah it was driving me crazy so I’m happy I found out what was going on. :P

I own David’s Darjeeling and enjoy it, so I grabbed two samples of this for comparison.

It’s dark and musky, soft and smooth, slightly sweet and very earthy. It smells like a walk in the woods after the rain has stopped.

I’m drinking it in my forest mug too! I can’t tell if it’s better than the other Darjeeling but I do like it.

Kittenna

I have this strange recollection that someone at a DT store said that one “new” darjeeling was just David’s Darjeeling with a new name…. No idea if it would be this one or not.

TeaLady441

I was wondering if they were the same, but I haven’t had my other long enough to really remember! It doesn’t look as though you can buy David’s Darjeeling anymore though: a search just brings up this or Himalayan Blend for Darjeeling.

crunch-thudbutter

I think this was just a rename to distinguish it from the one season where they carried a limited edition first flush version.

drank Toffee Dream by Zen Tea

Drank a whole pot. Still a tired frazzled mess with a grumpy sick baby, but I’m a happy frazzled mess. :)

This has a light toffee taste and it’s super nutty. Good, but not essential.
