467 Tasting Notes
Another review on a tea that I love. It is truly one of my anytime, anyplace, any reason teas. I’ve never made a bad cup. I added a little French Vanilla Stevia and all my cares have just melted away!
I’m visiting my very grumpy 88 year old mother in FL. Oh joy! It’s hot and sticky. I’m staying in a guest apartment in a “Senior Residence”. There are is no real kitchen and making tea is going to be a pain. Luckily I brought my big ice tea pitcher with the infuser so in 12-24 hours I’ll have some lovely cold brewed tea.
I’m still trying to do my exercise program of walking 3-4.5 miles a day. Ya know what… it’s really hot out side! I’ve ended up walking up and down the halls, over and over, back and forth, up and down stairs. Luckily, I can listen to Doctor Who and Orphan Black podcasts while I walk so the time goes faster.
One of the best parts about this trip is that there are several tea shops in Sarasota that I’ll get to visit! Uh oh, there goes all my money.
This tea definitely delivers a consistently high-quality experience for me! I drink it with cream (no sweetener) and find it very fine! ;-)
I get the French Vanilla Stevia at a health food store. It comes as a liquid with a dropper. There are several brands. They have a ton of flavors. I also have chocolate and hazelnut. Yum, Yum!
I’ve had a good day enjoying this tea today. I sense the strawberry and the chocolate flavors both before and after steeping. I added a bit of Stevia which made it quite enjoyable. It is definitely a dessert type tea. The rooibos doesn’t bother me as it does some people.
After drinking 2 cups, I resteeped the tea with some Yogi Daily Detox. Helped cover up the boring flavor of the Detox and still enjoyable cup of the Strawberry Chocolate.
Flavors: Chocolate, Strawberry
Well, the first taste was very buttery. But it got better on the second sip. I sense a nice caramel taste and the popcorn trying to jump out from the behind the caramel. The butter flavor remains strong and kind of makes this an odd cup. I had to add a drop of stevia to mellow out the butter. I’m sort of enjoying the cup and would enjoy this occasionally but wouldn’t buy it.
Flavors: Butter, Caramel, Popcorn
Preparation
OH MY GOODNESS it is cold this morning. Here it is the middle of July and it is 50 degrees! In the spring or fall that is no big deal but today it feels like its freezing. Part of the problem is that I had to get up about 2 hours early.
Perfect day for some Matevana! Warm and energizing! Just what I need this morning. Perfect taste and aroma! Now I am set to face the day!
This is a cautionary tale… some teas just don’t mix. We have all mixed teas on purpose but … I had half a tumbler of Fig Rose left. I went out and came home, decided to “top off” my Fig Rose and saw I had something in my teapot, added Samuri Chai by accident. In case you ever wondered… that is not a good combination. Blech! Right now I don’t think I could handle a cup of either tea without the memory of the bad tea overwhelming the cup.
The packet said Strawberry Sencha from Frontier Naturals. But I couldn’t find that tea on their site. I do feel that there is some strawberry in this. The sencha is mild and well balanced with a bit of strawberry. This is not a strawberry soda pop tea. This is a nice cuppa for the afternoon; need more caffeine in a.m., no caffeine in evening.
Preparation
This a a lovely tea made to be cold brewed. The green is the more prominent flavor with a nice taste of the tropics. It seems a little weak and I may try it with a bit more leaf. My ice tea pitcher is 64 oz. and it already seems crazy putting in 8 tsp. Luckily it’s only about $4 for 2 oz.
Flavors: Green, Tropical
Preparation
You know you are preoccupied when you find your pitcher full of tea and water “cold brewing” in the kitchen cabinet instead of the refrigerator! Kind of makes me wonder where other things will show up.
The tea is a lovely tartness with some well balanced lemon. Tarter than a raspberry lemonade would be. Nice for this summer day!Flavors: Lemon, Lemon Zest, Raspberry
Uh oh!!! You may be in for a long night!!!
Hide in an IHOP. They serve breakfast all day, so it’s not like they’d mind…
