392 Tasting Notes
I had this tea today while helping my boyfriend build a computer, an odd combination, but anyway that doesn’t really have to do with the taste of the tea.
This was quite pleasant! I was planning on having Lime Black tea and then I remembered this tea. Thanks Rachel for sending this to me! I have only ever had peach oolong in iced honest tea form but I find it to be a great combination. I loved the undertones of almond in this tea. I didn’t get that much vanilla flavor, but I definitely didn’t find the tea lacking.
Preparation
It shocks me how many Zoomdweebies teas aren’t logged yet!! Anyway this tea was just not for me. I expected it to taste like the fruit cocktail green tea or the tutti frutti black, both of which I quite enjoyed. I was actually afraid it would taste too much like the tutti frutti. However this did not taste anything like it. To me it tasted like bubble gum, more like bubbl gum that is beginning to lose its flavor though. I will try this tea again but I just don’t think its my cup of tea.
Backlogging from last night… I had this with a little milk. Despite my lack of interest in chocolate teas, I guess it was just a chocolate day – haha. Anyway this was really good, not particularly chocolatey but nice and flavorful. I enjoyed drinking it while reading a book :)
I won this in the 52 teas weekly news letter contest, on my birthday of all weeks to win! I have been wanting to try this tea since I first heard about it so I figured this would be an excellent opportunity to try it out!
Today it came in the mail and I was uber excited to try it plus I was really wanting a caffeine fix! Now I really am not a fan of chocolate teas I just don’t think the flavor can be replicated in a tea. I don’t think they taste bad but I just don’t think they taste like chocolate, but regardless I was very drawn to this tea.
I have never had yerba mate before so I don’t really know what to expect in terms of the base tea. The dry leaves smell mildly like the heath bar tea I have from 52 teas but with a little less of that protein bar scent. Also I swear… I know this is weird, but it smells like fig newtons.
Once the tea is steeped I am getting occasionally whiffs that really smell strongly of chocolate (like a chocolate syrup kind of chocolate). However it tastes again like figs. Which isn’t a bad flavor at all. In fact I throughly enjoyed this tea, but I am tasting more figs then chocolate. When I have milk in my fridge again I am definitely gonna try this both with a splash of milk and as a latte with a little bit of chocolate syrup for sweetener. I greatly look forward to experimenting with this tea.
Preparation
I think the bag this tea came in is really niffty. I have never had a mighty leaf tea before. I ended up purchasing a variety pack of mighty leaf tea to bring an amazon order up to $25 to get free shipping, so I have even more tea to try = yay!
As for the tea, this is a pretty standard black tea. It has more flavor depth than say lipton black or something equivalent. I am a big fan of breakfast teas so I enjoyed this pretty throughly. I look forward to trying the other teas!
This tea tastes like the fruit cocktail tea but with a black base instead of a green one. It smells fruity and delicious and it tastes fruity and delicious. This was a very happy tea to start the morning off with. If teas had personalities this one would be fun-loving and care-free. I look forward to trying this iced!
Mmm this was good. A mild yet spicy chai that kind of tastes like it already has milk in it which is kind of cool. It also smells delicious. Its one of those teas that makes your kitchen smell really good. I really enjoyed this tea as a little afternoon pick-me-up!
